A Shipper, I agree with ya. I hate it when they ruin the surprise. The whole point of these is to show the process and outcome of restoring things people throw away. I would rather be surprised with what the item looks like after all the hard work and time has been put into it.

I'm impressed with that plastic windshield. It came out really nice.

Does anyone else think the sand blaster is a game changer? I could watch stuff being sand blasted all day and not get tired of it😁

it's fortunately pretty typical for these guys not to add that annoying bullshit, most of 'em rarely even speak! laying in some awful techno nonsense they found for free is rather a sign of an amateur, imo. a smart person would take their 3M views and not worry about the extra work of bad music, lol.

as a kid those bend tabs were too tempting! I disassembled EvErYtHiNg!!! Now I like restoration. Haha at least I know how to get them apart. much enjoyment in watching the toys get restored.

It always amazes me how you can tell how much care and detail goes into not just the restoration process but building the toys themselves. They really don't make them like this any more.

I have a Tonka jeep willy's in my garage that I am willing to donate to you just to see it go through restore, I think is still salvageable.

I just came upon this channel last night and I can't stop watching it. What a skilled and dedicated artist! I will never look at rusty "junk" the same way again. He makes it look so easy but I am positive it takes a lot of patience and know how to handle a project like this. The transformation is simply breathtaking! I wonder what he does with all the things he restores. They should be in a museum!

When that powder coat came out of the oven, I couldn’t believe my eyes! Amazing restoration!

That may be the most calming satisfying video I've ever watched. Thank you.

Man with that talent the amount of customization you could do with car models like this. I'd love to see a full custom paint job. Whatever you can think of that looks good. That'd be a good watch.

This is giving me second thoughts about getting rid of those rusty Tonka dump truck and mixer in my backyard.

I have been watching your restoration videos sitting across thousands of miles away in India. Kind of satisfaction it gives me is immense. Hats off to your restoration skills. It's truly an art, but it can't be done without having deep knowledge of elements involved in making this restoration possible. Keep up the good work. 👍

I have this exact truck in "barn find" condition and it looks exactly like this one. Mirror image. It was even the same blue metallic. I was helping a friend at an old house he bought to renovate and as I was clearing the overgrown weeds and brush in the backyard I kicked something and there it was. It's on my shelf sitting in all of it's rusted glory. Been researching how to restore it so this video is right on time. Great job and thank you.

I would be more impressed if you could get a real version of this truck restored in real life. I wanted to do that to a real life version of this truck, which I believe is a Chevrolet Apache, but I lacked the money, experience (as I was only around 13 or 14 at the time), and a sane and stable stepfather that also had enough money to pay for a proper restoration of the truck. I know that it would have looked nice if it was restored.

You are one of the only persons that does a primer, then sand, then top coat. Makes such a huge difference of smooth surface vs. popped mark and clearly nor mint...bravo

I've watched and enjoyed your restoration videos. I don't know what happens to them when you finish. I hope they end up in some children's hands, inspiring imagination and play like many Tonkas did when I was a kid. I have a granddaughter, and she has just discovered the joy of pushing her toy trucks around on the floor, and the dirt outside.

This is probably the most satisfying channel on KZread.

This is a 1958 Pickup #2. It was the only year that the truck had the holes for the tailgate and the plain tires (no whitewalls) and 5 round holed hub caps. Great job on the restoration. I did a 1959 pickup #2 for my channel.

This brings it back, had three of the 50's blue Fords. One by it's self and two and a trailer in a set, they were my first Tonka's . Thanks for the memories !

Seriously i love this channel.... I mean i have zero business with restoration stuff but i love the way this videos are. Direct. No disturbin music. No bs talk which no one wants to hear or scenes which artifically make the video longer than it is. Just. Perfect.

Great video. You just do the job - no jingo music, no silly jokes. The simplest toys are the best - and that's a truly epic colour you've finished up with there.

I found this channel a couple of days ago and am already addicted not just the sand blasting and the powder coating but the clarity of process and use of tools.

Buffing wheel in the drill press.... brilliant idea. Beautiful restoration too. I really enjoyed that you didn't use any rowdy background music.

Background music is fine as long as it’s appropriate for the mood and stays in the background. I like to hear the small sounds of the tools doing their thing, not Metallica screaming over the build...though I do like Metallica😎

Sometimes I like some commentary. Like telling about what being done, type of material or whatever is being used... As long as it's short, educating, and to the point.

Wow! You are a master craftsman. For some reason, just watching your videos lowers my blood pressure and reduces anxiety. Thank you.

I love your restorations for several reasons, but especially because you tend to be more loyal to the original colors or at least the spirit of those colors and that you don't make things shine that didn't originally shine.

I have this same truck, even the same color, only mine has the tail gate and tail gate chains. Got it from my grandpa about 55 years ago. Paint is faded and tires are worn out, Too many miles. Nice job bringing that one back from the dead!

WOW! I don't think I've ever seen a better finish on a Tonka truck, perfect color. And the way you restored the tires is brilliant. Thanks for the great reveal!

The bumper, headlights, tires, windshield, tailgate and chains are all available in reproduction.

When I come home from a busy day, I swich on to your show, no more stresss, and that is the truth!

I know it’s not the original paint, but I have to say that I think you made the right choice on that.

Nice to have a set up to powder coat and oven to bake the finish! That is one ultra durable and beautiful job well done!

It's amazing how well the powder coating works. Now he needs to find a tailgate for it. The grille was pretty banged up on this one. Couldn't get it perfect. It was amazing how he restored the windshield. I thought it s going to need a new one.

Had one of these as a kid. To bad Tonkia don't build their trucks like they use too I was rough on them all. To this day i still have the true and trusted dump truck.
