The post-WW2 economic boom was at its peak in the 1960s. The people born during and soon after WW2 reached their teenage years and young adulthood in that decade. They were also a very large generation numerically (hence the term Baby Boomers). So there was a lot of youthful energy, affluence and optimism at that time.
No smartphone, no person intimidated to be filmed, smiles, calm, effervescent fashion. Wonderful.

I agree, you're right about being intimidated now, people don't seem to like it. and try it filming in some places today without some jumped little Hitler in a viz jacket asking why you are filming in a public place and then ordering you to stop filming. No designer clothing labels to be seen, no stupid ripped jeans, no blokes or women with tattoos, no men wearing those silly half length shorts that seem to be popular now, no young women with their hair dyed in pink or blue, women mostly wearing shirts unlike today where it's all trousers.

Oh well, continuity, whether we wish it or not. People talk so much about their "freedom" But I'm sorry to say I find it laughable. How many are watching these London 60s street scenes purely to spot all the now classic cars?. So many different models seen in this one piece of footage in one area, from the mundane Ford Anglia, Mini Cooper/van, to an MGA, Triumph, to an E-Type Jag roadster and Rolls Royce. Everyone of those cars, even something that was just a regular run about back then like a Morris Minor are now cherished classics and turn heads whenever they're seen on the roads. Every one of them had their charm and character, modern cars are soulless.

The film probably made in 1966 or 1967 was a time when Britain was truly great ,and there was so much OPTIMISIM the ordinary worker could even have the ability to get a mortgage in many cases. Totally different now where there's no chance to ever own your own home.This is the deliberate policy in the last 30years to ensure house prices and rents for any accommodation is only affordable to the very few.Usual methods make the poor poorer so that the rich get even richer. Why have the traitors decided to destroy our country, nowadays there's a justified possibility that things will get a lot worse.
All women wear a dress or skirt, no woman wearing trousers.
@Embracing01
2 жыл бұрын
I noticed that. I would've thought this was a younger generation thing, but even women in their 80s and 90s are wearing trousers now; towards the late 90s my mum who was in her late 50s/early 60s at the time started wearing pants all of a sudden, and I can't remember a time when she wore a skirt after that moment, with the exception of a family event like a wedding etc. What has caused this I don't know. We live in a copy cat society where as soon as one person does something other people do the same. TV shows and modern fashion may also play a part in this, or maybe it's down to laziness lol.
Pre Covid days just wonderful and you could feel safe and sound sadly 55- 60 years later people didn’t know what was going to hit the world. It was hit with Covid which has Changed the world For years to come
