You are right, these trucks have alot of rust issues, I have a 66 C-10, owned for 37 years, started restoration in 2013, finished in 2016, replaced rocker panels, both front fenders, cab corners, doors also repaired, also cab floor repair, all rust related issues, all my work was professionally done, like you say buyer's need to know what they are getting into when buying these trucks, I love my truck, it's like part of the family, great video, SUBSCRIBED.

Check the bottom pockets - doors, cab rear corners, and air vents (by your left/right feet). Also check rain gutters and under floor mat. FIXABLE!

Can you tell me, do the exterior body lines stay the same from 60-66? I am looking for a fleetside shortbed to complete my project. My cab is a 1965.

Sure do, only real change is 60-63 have a different style door but overall it’s the same style 60-66

do you have clearance issues with the air filter hitting the brake booster? I want to add power brakes but I thought it would hit my air cleaner
@shortcutgarage

Yep, I ended up using a small Edelbrock foam air filter, I wanted to fab one up out of an old 235 filter canister, would have looked sick and looked the part but ended up selling the truck to a subscriber

I’m buying new fenders what should I coat them with so they don’t rust?
@shortcutgarage

I just prep and paint them like any other panel, they typically won’t see any worse weather or conditions than they have over the last 60+ years, in fact they’ll be babied comparatively speaking.
