This is a stunning Fairlane, body off frame restored. Very well equipped, genuine Thunderbird Special motor. It has some great upgrades neatly installed too: a/c, power disc brakes, electric wipers and more. It's set up too drive and look good doing it!
EXTERIOR: It is straight with no bubbling, damage or rust. The Raven Black paint is polished smooth and glossy. The chrome and trim have been replaced or restored and still looks great. It's decked out to the 9s. In back is a Continental kit with a painted cover and chrome ring. It also has dual mirrors, door handle guards, rear antenna, fender skirts, stone shields and bumper guards. It's riding on radial whitewall tires with the deluxe wire basket hubcaps. The windshield has been replaced. The weatherstrips and seals were replaced. Upgraded black canvas convertible power top. It even has blue dot taillights!
INTERIOR: It is restored very nicely. New carpet on the floor with embroidered mats. Upholstery and door panels are correct reproduction. Handles and window cranks were replaced. Nice looking dash, the metal is painted, chrome is nice. Upgraded quartz movement clock, it has an FM converter in the glovebox. Visors were replaced. It has seatbelts in front.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the optional Thunderbird special 312 motor making 245 horsepower. Original "teapot" style 4 barrel carb and correct air cleaner. Correct valve covers labeled Thunderbird Special V-8. All the components look restored. Correct hoses and clamps, upgraded with an electric fan. Upgraded power disc brake system with dual reservoir master. The air conditioning is very neatly installed, you barely notice it's there. 1st year for a 12 Volt battery, it's secured properly and has a disconnect switch. Upgraded electric wipers. The metal surfaces are painted nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's rock solid and painted nicely. Correct white plaid mat, new well liner. Radial whitewall tire that's never been used on a black painted rim, it has the jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Body off frame restored about 10 to 15 years ago. The entire suspension and steering have been rebuilt. The brake system was redone, and it's upgraded with disc in front. Dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers and the tips go out right through the back bumper. Fuel system was replaced, it has a shiny gas tank. Looking up at the motor it's clean. It has a Cruise-o-matic transmission. The drive shaft was rebuilt. The floors appear to be all clean metal.
Conclusion: This Fairlane is one of the good ones. It sits right, runs right, looks right. Very nicely equipped including some nice upgrades.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.

Beautiful machine Jay ! What I like about your presentations is when you open something, close something, push a movable part of the car you're not manic about it - done with ease and gentleness. Some of the other channels on KZread, the person presenting the car - slam, smack, stab ( with the pointer finger ) -Oy Vay.

I got a kick out of the Audiovox FM converter! I got my first car in 1978 and it had an AM radio. Audiovox was the way to go!

Stunning car Jay. My dad had one, not a ragtop (I don't remember too young) he would be beside himself seeing this if he was alive. Had a crack up when I saw that 40yr old Audiovox fm converter in the glovebox. Another great Volo score!

I appreciate your response. To that, maybe it was I who reacted wrong. I want a classic, but the car I want seems to be going up and up in price. I saw a 1958 Tbird convertible for $18,000 in 2015, but couldn't afford it. When I watch some shows and hear Rotisserie Restored or Upgrades, I get irritated. I didn't know others would want to know such things. I sort of figured it would be evident. However, a nice paint job can cover some problems. I understand and feel bad for my actions. I will re-subscribe and now know it's not to cover markups as it is something some want to know. Thank you for responding.

No worries Bradley, we can understand the frustration. Seeing prices go up, like everything is lately, can be annoying. We'll still keep your feedback in mind & are always open to constructive feedback. 👍

Something I must say. Whether you or your son. If you are going to show a car, know what to say before you show it. I just watched your son talk about a 2006 GTO and he kept saying, "if I don't know" " I can't remember...". Yet I will admit both of you talk about all the upgrades and the vehicle being so many more thousands than the original. It's a classic or performance, we can tell it will be expensive. Seems to me you talk of all the thousands in the vehicle just to cover your markups. I canceled my subscription because I don't want to hear how many thousands more the vehicle will cost with you, plus you can remember or forgot something important. I like some cars but I don't care about your markups or the explanations of why is it so expensive.

Hey, cut the man a break. A business has to make a profit to survive. I'm sure you already know that.

Sorry to see you go. I don't think our intention of sharing costs of upgrades or maintenance done, be it by us or the previous owners, is to "cover our markups". Many potential buyers like to know that information. Though we will certainly share your feedback and take it into consideration, we're always open to hearing feedback. Also Caleb, who does the 1985 and newer vehicles(the 2006 GTO you mention), isn't Jay's brother. I believe he is Jay's cousin.
