It looks like Porsche perfected the sports car in 1955. Since then all the other carmakers have been copying it. It''s aero dynamic shape, gives it a low co-effcient of drag which improves gas mileage. By being all curves with no corners or edges, it makes less wind noise. Being a sports car it is fun to drive on short trips, but not across a state. The engine is only 1600cc so it is less likely you will lose your license speeding. By putting the engine in the rear it makes it easy to do a 4 wheel drift. When they stopped making VW beetles in Mexico, they should have kept making the chassis and engine, upon which a fiberglass speedster body could be installed. They should offer an optional propane fueled version that could pass emissions. Those titanium wrist pins like the 911 has should be optional. n.b. this is NOT a racing car and does not pretend to be one.
