We’re looking at a 1954 Pegaso Z-102 Berlinetta Series II coachwork by Saoutchik in White Paint. The car comes with a V8 engine with Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) with a 5 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is Chip Fudge. Chip’s had this car since 2015. Chip shares his Dad used to work for Mobil Oil and there logo was a “flying Horse” which is the same logo on this Spanish built car. This car was the fastest car in 1953 until the Mercedes 300SL came out.

No conocía sobre esta marca española Pegaso. Éste modelo Z-102 Berlinetta Serie II de 1954 tiene una carrocería de líneas muy hermosas y fluidas. ¡Parece una obra de arte! Seriously, you've never heard of Hispano-Suiza? They were the best cars in the world in the 1920s, better than Rolls Royce or Mercedes. The Pegaso was produced by Enasa, the state automotive company that inherited the Hispano-Suiza factories. Look this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZhtmMSiZtC2Y8Y.html&start_radio=1

The Pegaso Z-102 is a familiar but extremely rare car. I have only seen two of these cars. The Z-102 is the only car that Pegaso ever built. Following WW2 things were difficult in Europe and most people couldn’t even buy a very basic car and having built this just one model which didn’t sell because people simply didn’t have the money. Pegaso then decided to concentrate on commercial vehicles. The ENASA organization Empresa Nacional de Autocamiones SA built their first truck in 1949. They had factories in Madrid and Barcelona. I notice the car in the video has Madrid registration. Pegaso built many trucks and buses until the 1990’s when they became part of IVECO and the name Pegaso was discontinued.

They were produced with three different engines: 2.5, 2.8 and 3.2 litre, all V8s with power up to 200 HP. The engine was Pegaso design and fabrication. The designer of the car was a Spanish guy working at the time in Alfa Romeo, as a boss even in Formula 1 called Wilfredo Ricart. Only 84 Pegasos were produced. It is estimated that only around 60 exist today. About 10 years ago somebody paid 585.000 euro for one in an auction.

Chevy should have thought of something like that for the C4 Corvette with the OptiSpark. Very little to interrupt the lines. Looks like excellent fit and finish. Just gorgeous! You’re right. I had never heard of it before. Now I’m gonna have to google it and find out all the details like how many were made etc. I like the Pegasus too.

@@mr.blackhawk142 They do interrupt the lines a bit and the car would look better without them but the argument for them is that because the taillights are frenched, they operate with the turn signals and make them easier to see from the side. It’s a safety measure. Of course you could also question how often other drivers need to see your turn signals from the side. If they’re directly behind you they can see your taillights and turn signals and if you’re changing lanes or turning, you need to make sure there’s no one beside you. The old lead sleds usually had frenched taillights and they didn’t have extra turn signals on the side.
