I love the ambulance the best, I have one and I had to repair one of the back doors. I love opening and working features, so I have lots of Corgis and Dinkys.

You may of may not be surprised to hear that the little water tanker model (Austin K9) was still in use in Germany when I was a soldier in the mid 1970,s and the truck that was the ambulance was still in use, the Artillery regiment next door to us had one as a stores vehicle......although the Cab was a 'Commer Cab' from a Rootes vehicles model, the truck was a Ford that used the ubiquitous Ford Flat head V8. That Foden 10 Ton model was never actually used by the British Army in the 1950's the much earlier 1930's Fodens were used as a 10 Ton stores carrier to supplement the 10 Ton Leyland Hippo which was used in much larger numbers. The Leyland Martian was a Massive vehicle which was destined to replace the Wartime Mack 'Supermack' NO Models as artlillery and 10 Ton Load Carriers (they even stole the Mack front axle design and the Scammel back axle arrangement......(this was designed as a purely Military vehicle - I doubt that they ever sold a single 'civilian' version)...and again Martian Recovery vehicles were still in use up to the late 70,s and probably later in some cases.....they had a Rolls Royce gasoline engine that did some 2-3 MPG on a good day. After service they were beloved of recovery outfits which would re engine them and get an impressive wrecker for very little money. I would bet that the odd one here and there is still in service.

Love the extent and variety shown. Still have a lot of my own from childhood. Well played with but in good shape. Can’t believe the current value of so many, when I bought the originals with a few shillings or dollars!

You're lucky to have some of your originals. It is also nice to own such quality toys ! I didn't have that many Dinky Army toys myself but, a few friends and I would get together with what we had and have some battles in the woods and such ! Thanks for watching, and I appreciate your comments.

I'm going to guess it has something to do with indicating the angle of elevation , maybe. Hope that helps.

i have the same white mark on mine, and i was wondering if it is not due to perhaps a torn sticker,..
