my dad introduced me to earl in 1978 in illinois.he told me hey the kid looks just like you!pretty cool I was 13 then.
I was in the auto body business years ago and seen many Earl Schieb paint jobs…they had more runners than a at a track meet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice. I'm surprised to see there's still earl scheib. I thought they all closed
I worked at an Earl Schieb in Illinois back in the late 70's....newspaper to fill rust holes. 2 cars per gallon of paint
In the late 60,s it was $19.95 to paint the car. The last time I ever heard they were saying $59.95
That's the first time I've ever seen a hose trolley setup!!! Great idea!
They used to advertise “Any Car, Any Color for $29.95 when I was teenager. I’m 74 now.

My brothers Alfa Romeo was painted by them in late sixties . The over spray on non body parts could have been another coat of paint on the car . 😳🤣 . That was in Camden, NJ .

You forgot the $10.00 free body work.
I’m thinking any painter at a shop like this, were he sprays 4 or more cars a day, should be pretty good at painting a car. A promised tip for a job well done, and you should end up with a respectable “driver quality” paint job, at a working man’s price point!
And their Diamond Gloss paint , remember this well!
I,m 67 and I can remember 49.99 myself
You make it look so easy but it's not easy at all man you got to know what you're doing and I like the fact is Earl Scheib 2995 any color any car
We had one in our town back in the early 60's
If I'm not mistaken, that was old Earl himself. layin on the two stage paint. Yeah right.
Blac candy on glass 👍👍👌🔥
That ride looks beautiful 😍
THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
Yeah any paint job $29.95. Problem being they painted the damn glass tires and all .lol😮
The underside of the rockers aren't being adequately covered
One coat of black sealer, one coat of base and one coat of clear. What was the cost of the paint job?
I remember when people would refer to a crapy , cheap , poor quality paint job as an "earl sheib " paint job, it was intended to be an insult
Where is the Paint roller
Thought these guys only painted out of pots.
I don’t think they use Dulux enamel anymore
Are they still doing orange peel paint jobs?

That’s their specialty but it costs more.
The price which was originally $29.95 went to $39.95 in the 60’s and was up to $59.95 by 1974 and $99 by 1980….now you should be able to know how much a paint job was in your era…
Many years ago, (like 60 years), I had my '62 VW repainted at Scheib in Richmond, Va for $49. They painted over a piece of bubble gum and bird crap. I don't think they owned a stool cuz there was a stripe down the center of the roof with no new paint, just the original paint. Couldn't reach high enough to cover the whole roof. I'm embarrassed by the fact that I'm under 5' tall, and didn't notice this for two months.
What about the trunk channels and the inside edges of the hood, trunk and inside door frames, and center posts ?
If truth be told, Shieb used cheap alkyd enamel that had to be baked in an oven to harden. Did'nt result in a durable finish.
Get rid of that music
Ugly car no matter the paint job
They were the cheapest ones in my car in my car painting days and in Chicago.
