You certainly could’ve fooled me with that last song before the hank williams songs…that song must’ve been way ahead of it’s time. If you had told me that it was from 1959 instead of 1949 I’d have believed you. I didn’t think that drums l,Ike that had been brought mainstream at this point in countr history.

Poorly done. Tennessee Saturday Night was featured as a late 50s recording by Ernest Tubb. And fyi, RedFoley's hit was from 1947. There needs to be more thought put into these presentations. And why in the wide world would you spotlight Nat King Cole? And I won't even ask why you didn't play the original Candy Kisses by George Morgan instead of a 60s TV clip.

Hi @vinylrob6305 According to my data, Red Foley version was #1 March 19, 1949 on the Billboard Hillbilly chart. In the 40s, many songs were redone by other artists not only on the Hillbilly chart but also the Pop chart. Bing Crosby had a hit with a Bob Wills song in 1940. Nat King Cole was spotlighted in the beginning segment as he is an icon and it was featured as one of the biggest TV shows of the year. While not Hillbilly, Nat King Cole was of course big on the Pop chart and Country/Hillbilly and Pop artists often borrow from each other and appreciate the other genre. I played the video clip of Morgan to give new folks who may have never seen him what a great artist he was. Many folks have commented that is great to see the artist but it's hard to find many video clips from the 40s. Playing record images of the recording all the time can be boring. One of the keys to CMTM is to expose folks to country music history that may know nothing about it and give a general look at US/world history of the time. And how it all meshes together. But I do screw up sometimes and once I verify the screwup, I do what I can to fix it.
