In this video from the 2021 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas NV I catch up with this very cool 1948 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup...It's covered in a Peral red paint and retains most of it's original chrome. The custom leather interior is a shade of brown that goes well with the rest of the build. The shade of wood they chose to use in the bed of this 1948 Chevrolet 3100 really pops and completes the clean look of the rest of the truck..Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone...I think the size and style of wheels they chose to run on this 48 Chevy Pickup from the 2021 SEMA Show work well with the overall look of the rest of the truck. Under the hood is where things really get cool with this 1948 Chevrolet Pickup...A Supercharged 6.2L zero emission Hydrogen fueled engine....For all the cool that was at the 2021 SEMA Show....The fuel that this 1948 Chevrolet Pickup burns was the thing I was most excited about!! Electric powered vehicles were everywhere this year at the SEMA Show...And as I stood in Central Hall I thought how many of these companies will be able to adapt to electric powered vehicles....A small percent I would bet....With Hydrogen power everyone keeps their jobs....The engine work the same way as when it burned gasoline... Just now it burns zero emission Hydrogen fuel....Sounds the same...Starts with a button like a new truck You would not know the difference and all that comes out the tailpipe is water...How cool it that!?!??!...Way cool I tell You!!!..Check it out!!!

I love this! I think that hydrogen and biofuel burned in traditional engines is the future of classic cars and hot rodding. It allows for all the fun of building and customizing your car and it's engine without damaging the environment.

Beautiful Red Pearl 48 Chevy truck and cool it's Hydrogen powered with zero emissions. I really hope Hydro Power Alternative takes off. I'm no fan of the electric cars. I prefer the sound and noise of modified V8 powerplants. Awesome Video and Thank You Brother.👍👍👌😎

I’m with you not a fan of the electric, especially more since it’s being shoved down out throats. I’m curious more about conventional engine with the hydrogen power seems like a cool option. 👍 oh and love the truck!

Scottie, What a gorgeous truck. I’d change nothing about this build. I have to admit I hear electric and it doesn’t get my attention not like a ground pounding V8 combustion motor. Everyone talks about Electric Motorcycles they all look the same design to me. When someone builds a Electric Motorcycle that looks like a V Twin Cruiser they’ll have my complete attention and can go more than 140 miles. You know Sunday Night I was watching a Livestream and the subject of Hydrogen powered vehicles came up vs. electric.

Hydrogen has been around for ages. It works extremely well. There is nothing dirtier to build and dispose of than batteries. The powers that be don't want hydrogen. You can build it but don't try to sell conversions, you and your family will get phone calls to stop, seriously.

I don't understand the disdain for electric, nor why anyone's job at SEMA would be affected by electric vehicles. It's just a different way of doing the same thing (moving people in cars). SEMA wouldn't exist if it weren't for new technologies (that's what SEMA is for). That said, I don't like Tesla's designs, nor any other EV that looks like a spaceship inside. This is a beautiful truck. Be it gas, hydrogen, or electric; celebrate it for the work that was done. No matter what is providing the propulsion, I can still shift gears and adjust the vents with my hands!

Currently SEMA exists to serve the automotive aftermarket manufacturing industry. While you are correct, SEMA jobs would probably be fine, there wouldn't be a need for as much performance parts that are specific to internal combustion. If you look around the SEMA floor, most of the companies displaying are for parts that don't apply to the EV market. SEMA would likely still exist but it would be a much different landscape if we are all EV. In my mind the entire industry would be better served with ICE conversions to green power (like in this case, hydrogen) instead of replacing an entire drivetrain with an electric motor. But maybe that's just me, my hot rod would be not nearly as exciting if no one could hear it.
This thing is sick. Do you have any idea of a rough cost to convert an LS to hydrogen? I have a Holden Ute here in Australia running an LS2 and I'd love to convert it to hydrogen. I work in oil and gas and I can see a day where petroleum is just not economic to buy and driving my Ute is something I can only do occasionally, but hydrogen could solve this, and cleaner exhaust fumes are a good thing for everyone. Also, do you know the range of a refill? I love this concept, hopefully it becomes mainstream for car enthusiasts.

It's not ready for market yet....so no pricing....He say that the tank in the truck should give you around 3.5 run time...

There are several places that carry it now....Some run on solar and never have to have anyone monitor them...But not near enough to make a difference...But that is just logistics figure out where you want them and start installing Hydrogen stations...

I moved to Grove City, Ohio in 1987 and there was a dune buggy I used to see running around town all the time. This car was powered by water, he had a sign on the car saying so. All of a sudden the car disappeared never to be seen again. Some say GM bought it and destroyed it, some say something shady happened to the car and owner. If anyone knows what happened please leave a reply. Thanks

Very interesting. Like you I have ZERO interest in the EV hot rod movement. Would be great to see this tech. develop further. If ev is the future of the hobby then I guess it's time for something else...I'll gladly utilize it for utility vehicles though...
