Jonathan, no matter what anyone says about the definition of a"rat rod". What you are doing is awesome, I love the fact that you are saving some History!! The cars of yesteryear deserve to live again. Well done. I very much enjoy your videos and I have subscribed to your son's page as well. Your a good man sir, keep up the good work.

I'd rather see them crushed than bitched up as rat rods. They are nothing like their former glory as rat rods. This car should definitely be restored to what it was when new. We had one of these back when I was in the seventh grade.

@@richardcline1337 your sentiment is appreciated. We have 26 cars built before 1950. In our pasture, All cars that are feasible to do so are restored to original. BUT, not all cars fit the feasibility test. Those are evaluated (triaged). Thus, some of ours are "Derelict", to preserve the gentle patina which can be stunning. Some are serious Rat Rodded to preserve a slice of history that could not be financially feasible or even possible to restore. We find that many children are drawn to the Rat Rods at the shows. To my brother & I, drawing the children into this hobby is the most important aspect of our "car works". The Rat Rods offer an opportunity for little kids to explore around without fear of inflicting an earth shattering scratch! There is room in this hobby for various ideas. We have one child that was enticed by one of our Rat Rods who is now in mechanic school with the target of primarily rebuilding straight 8s. Education of auto history is rewarding!

I have seen a LOT of videos of old cars, a lot. In all the thousands of old cars I've seen in person or in videos, this car is in the most amazing condition underneath for a car that has sat as long as this one has... well, from anywhere that isn't a desert! By the shape of the window chrome it sure seems like that car was cherished for a long time before it got parked. May have even been in a barn/garage for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if this car got parked in the 50's/60's and only got put outside fairly recently it's in such good condition under there.

Y'know I have heard it said that the C in C-10 meant Custom, but the way I heard it the C designation was simply for 2 wheel drive trucks, while the K designation was for 4X4 trucks... Later they changed the designation to R and V I think, sometimes in the late 80's.

I went back and looked because you are the second to say that. The cable your seen was one that I got off a friend, I forgot all about it, but I have changed it since. I honestly don't think I noticed it when I put it on, he bought them new, but took them right off because the hooks was to big and he didn't like running clamps. I was confused because I forgot and I even went out and looked and it is right, so after searching the videos, I now see what you are talking about.
