What a nice restoration on this beautiful car. He kept the flattie as well, I see. The color looks like a mix b/t dark maroon and brown. Unique and goes well with the camel color interior which is an attempt at the original mohair material from the factory. In high school in the '60's, I had a '40 Ford Deluxe Tudor (2 door) that was almost identical to this one as far as body style is concerned. It had been converted to a 12 V system and had a '55 Chevy 265 V8 for power, completely stock with the oil bath air breather! I sold it at graduation to go to college. My car was dark maroon with a sort of "hounds tooth" black interior. The 265 was mated with the original tranny and rear end via what was a conversion kit. The power was enough that I snapped 2 rear axles which had to be replaced, usually from old junker '46-'48 Fords I could find that were still in junkyards at the time (we're talking in the years 1968-1970). As most people, I'm sorry I sold it, but that's life. 😢
Thanks 😊 audio at beginning of video.
Gorgeous completely original car! That is the way I like it. Notice the lack of external door lock in the left door. That was the way Ford cars were done in the late 30's for safety concerns. Either 2 or 4-door models, it was to stimulate both entry and exit of driver and passengers by the right side, directly at the sidewalk, and reduce risk of accidents.
It is in perfect condition ❤😂.
Very nice.
