Nice H. To find one with the heat shield is very rare, as most were thrown away. To find the light switch would be rare. A lot of the 1939s did not have electrical on them. Starting and lighting was added later on some of those particular tractors. Last year we picked up a 1939 M (FBK 4000) and it was obvious to me the electrical was added in the 1950s as it had the 1100501 generator, voltage regulator and new style dash. The 1939s and some 1940s have a few unique features: -grille and hood are fastened different than newer tractors -kill switch is mounted to the magneto and controlled by a cable. -serial plate is fastened with little screws instead of rivets -different light switch -different transmission cover -steering wheel is completely covered in Bakelite and shaped a bit different (This tractor didn't have the original steering wheel) -different seat -different PTO -On the H, the starter switch location -lighter drawbar Some of the changes were improvements, and some I believe were made for commonality with the new standard tread counterpart introduced in 1940: the W-4. I just ran a 1939 H in a parade of power. It belongs to a friend of mine and it has half steel. Thanks so much for the video.
