1937 Studebaker Armored Police Car
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This special police vehicle was ordered by the city of Canton, Ohio in 1937 to maintain control at the violet street strikes at area mills. It was in service for more than 50 years without a break down.
The car features 10 gauge steel armor throughout the body, 1.125 inch thick bullet-proof window glass wîth opening chromed gun ports and multiply bullet-resistant tires wîth inner liners. It also has a 2-way Motorola Police radio wîth a secondary backup radio system standard. In 1937 the company that custom fitted the armor guaranteed the car to be bullet-proof for any bullets up to 45 caliber gun shots.

Back in the days, they deployed classy luxury cars outfitted with armor to break down worker strikes? I guess those were different times.
Sounds nice Brother..will check it out when I get a minuet
@XboobtubeX Could have been...that's one long motor...not sure have seen a straight eight...
You're welcome. I would totally become a steel worker just to go on a strike if they'd run me down with this beauty.
kickass stude....
@ristin59 I thought so to..thanks for cking it out!!
250 cid, straight, inline, flathead 8-cylinder (110-115 hp) - not a V-8, until 1951
such a sick car. thats awesome that they had run flats back then, i would have never imagined. Those gun ports are crazy, i can't imagine how someone would react back then when that baby pulled up lol.
NICE

I bet the zero to 60 time was about 2mins..I'm sure all that extra weight killed the engines performance ..Really a nice ride though..
Now they have ex-Military semi-tanks. Just as cool but less style. Police work can be deadly

They are much better at crowd control now for sure....
but is cool
scottie...you say this had a V8...In 1937 I do believe they had straight 8's, not V8's...
I am sure the chief of police ordered it to transport high profile prisoners. Well that was his excuse on his paperwork to the state. I wonder how much it cost back then. Nice car though. To bad bonnie & Clyde didn't have that car lol. Could you imagine how loud it was if you fired a thompson in that thing. You would go deaf
lol
