I would love to watch slick do a full resto on that Firebird. Full body work and paint and complete drive train rebuild. That car is in good enough condition it would turn out awesome. It's would be a great opportunity to show his talents.

We "old timers" didn't have the tools that you guys have access to today. Booger welds, and brazing because we only had torches,or crappy stick welders. We didn't have mig welders ,and 4 inch grinders. Love your channel and content. No disrespect just spitting some truths

Absolutely, I grew up in a family body/hotrod shop, in the early 70s I can atest to the tools we had then compared to what we have today. Spent my youth learning to braze with torches.. sometimes even with old coat hangers...

I think your second channel content is gold my man. It’s your pallet to put anything on the tube you want. And those of us that love you and watch you faithfully will gladly take any journey with you that you want to take us on. Just keep doing what you do. We will be right here with you every week. And if you take time off every once and a while to be ‘human’ we will be ok. We will see you when you get back. Happy holidays my friend!

I like that Puddin and Slick are working for themselves. Nice to be the boss. Wild Man Bill is a great dude, not sure what he does. That old frame was some interesting work. Slick is probably the best thing to happen to that car to get it back on the road in proper condition.

I met some guys at a power plant picnic well into the eighties. Asked what they did. They answered we were laggers for forty years, trained, and never changed. Laggers are insulators. One was a mixed guy, and the other was the applier and finisher. Mix involved mixing the asbestos powder with a water glass to make a paste. The installer used asbestos webbing and used his hands to wrap and form the insulation. They estimated over the years, they lagged 3000 miles of pipe, 4500 miles of fittings, and probably 20,000 individual valves.

That '69 Chevelle reminds me of my own '69 SS396 that we purchased from a salvage yard friend and customized back in the late 70's. It had a bad driver door and had the bucket seats stolen when we got it. We repainted it Candy Apple Red with Gold accents under the top coat. One of the best rebuilds we ever did. It was forever more fast.

My friend had a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 with a 4-speed in red with white racing stripes. I wrecked it and had to fix or sell it for him. A guy who restores muscle cars came and looked at it and said all '69 SS's had vinyl tops. After looking in the trunk at the back of the sail panels, sure enough, we could see where the trim holes had been welded up. Keep on doing what you're doing. Love ya man.

Slick build yourself a cheap brake press, brother. Two pieces of half-inch thick 4 inch flat bar. build two hinges with four 3/8 pipe nipples and two grade 8 bolts them together like door hinges clamp one plate over the top of your metal and hinge the other piece of flat bar down and will break your metal for you
