As the owner of a 58 studebaker silver hawk, I absolutely love this. My grandpa had studebaker’s from the 30’s to the 60’s, my dad owned a couple champions a 49&51.. love this thing

The sunlight favored to appreciate this fantastic 1931 Studebaker President Roadster with that elegant combination of Tan and Burgundy! I love its large headlights, along with the large grille with its emblem and the majestic chrome ornament in the shape of a bird (oh, and its beautiful identification plate, under the front fender with the writing "Manufactured by The Studebaker Corporation, USA" and respective serial number). Nice interior; with a simple but elegant instrument panel, included clock, heater and a unique "AM radio". Exciting final ride, with those beautiful landscapes while the long and stylized hood pointed gently to the horizon. Congratulations, Mr. Travis, for showing us another of his historical gems! Apart from sharing his very interesting knowledge and fun anecdotes (like how this "glamorous machine" is in a garage next to a lawnmower, but, yes, everything is very clean and cared for! Haha). What a stunning automobile Lou. This is in my top 10 of the cars you've featured. Just think, in around 30 years from this, Studebaker was coming out with the Avanti. What a great company. Boy, do I wish they were still around making cars. I loved this video Lou!!

What a beautiful car! I had a neighbor once who owned a Lark but I had no idea Studebaker made anything like this. That Alan guy is terrific. I wish you had a video with him every week. Great stuff.

What a blast from the past his story is quite funny but the car is a serious show piece not many Studebaker left from any era let alone the 30s glad to see this car and should put in the museum with the rest of his award winners

Hi, Lou! Well, now you can tell all your friends you've met a President. One for all seasons, no less! LOL! This was South Bend's finest series of cars from 1926 till the end of prewar production in 1942, and the series made a return from 1955 to 1958. I love the two-toning and the cool and classy instrument panel, and I noticed "R" instead of "E" on the fuel gauge, which I'm guessing stands for "refill" or "refuel". I think John Mellencamp (who comes from Indiana just like Studebaker, and my maternal grandfather) would enjoy the rumble seat, and the first car radio, interesting to learn about that! As for keeping it next to the lawn mower, hey, that's much better than keeping it next to government documents strewn out all over the floor! Many thanks to you and Alan for taking us along on this very Presidential ride through Scorchdale, er, Scottsdale!

Hi Lou! WOW!! A car with style and character. This model could park next to a Cadillac and look at home. Thank you. I remember the Studebaker President of the 1950’s even though not as classy. Does parking this car with his lawnmower mean it is a cut above the others?!

First Rate! This car has the feel of the “Great Gatsby”. The only thing missing is an estate house in the background. It’s interesting to still see an attached trunk which would be replaced by integrated trunks on vehicles just a few years later.

A lot of people don't realize that at the time this car was built, Studebaker was an expensive and luxurious car. I am wondering if this is the same Studebaker that was owned by Tony Curtis back in the 1980's. It looks the same as the one he bought if my memory is right.

"I can pick up any kind of static you want." 😂 Straight eights have a sound all their own, and loads of torque. Interesting detail on the quarter panels, almost like an inverted boat hull. Lou, I'm wondering what you record your videos with. The focus when you zoom in on the tags is flawless.

What a cool car. I wish you would have asked him where and how he purchased this car. Was it one he was looking for or did he just stumble upon it. They only made a few of them so they are rare. What if any restoration did he have to do after purchasing it?
