1920 Sewing Machine Restoration

Hello guys,
This sewing machine is an inheritance from my wife that we found thrown in the attic of my mother-in-law's house. It had been there for many years and belonged to her great-grandmother.
After 71 videos and 30 hours of work, it was a pleasure to carry out this restoration of a 1920 sewing machine. Now it is like new and will be a great souvenir in memory of your great-grandmother.

Thanks for the comment. I agree with you. This is a beautiful time machine and restoring it was a really satisfying experience.
I have a few questions: were you nervous using the wire wheel on the scroll work? Have you tried ultrasonic cleaning? If so, how were the results?

As I researched ultrasonic cleaning, not the best for dealing with rust and its contaminants. Therefore, I preferred to use mechanical intervention.

According to my mother-in-law, her grandmother bought this machine new between 1920 and 1925.

По патентам челнок-пуля появился позже чем центрально-шпульная система. Просто спустя время промышленная машина стала продаваться как домашняя.

Восстанавливать машину из такого состояния я бы стал только из -за того если этой машиной пользовался дорогой мне человек в память о нем. В России очень много подобных старых моделей зингера более лучшем состоянии. Их продают за гроши или просто отдают даром. Все таки коррозия уничтожает металл и создает зазоры в трущихся деталях. У меня есть зингер в отличном состоянии даже деколь ни где не повреждена и ржавчины нет потому что всю свою жизнь она стояла в жилом теплом помещении. Зингер 1906-08 года со шпулей- пулей. Я так и не пробовал на ней шить- есть другие машинки 60,90 годов.

Great. Hope you have success on Car restore. I love so much classic cars and sometimes got some 80’s and 90’s cars to get improve. Concerning sewing machine was a great experience and I could bring a good feeling to my wife and her mom.

Сборка машины на уровне делетанта, Нет элементарного понятия в механике. Почистил не плохо
