That was just beautiful! I've always loved those display stoves, but to see one working is just icing on the cake, love antiques anyway so if I'm ever lucky enough I want one of those too. It's just wonderful how you restored it and made it work, keep on doing it, it keeps the memories alive from simpler times. My grandmother grew up with one, it's speaks so much of times long past, a great memory to cherish, always. ❤

What a trip down memory lane. My father-in-law (gone for many years) was a Millwright. As a young man he taught himself to work with metals. His basement workshop was full of tools like the ones shown here. How nice to see them in action! And my great grandmother had a wood stove much like this one (without the gold leaf). Thank you so much for connecting me to these folks.

The music isn’t really needed & it’s kind of too high over powering the AMSR effect, but other than that great vid & good job. Very pretty stove.

Let me first saw, awesome job refurbishing this beautiful stove, but as someone who grew up with a majestic wood stove as my family’s sole source of heat and cooking, your “fire” was actually in the oven portion and your gas burner is where the wood should have been. But nonetheless it was nice to see it restored beautifully.

Haha - a fire builder you are not! But, WOW! What a piece of art. So this was both a gas burning stove and a wood burning stove? I've never heard of that. But I love the miniatures that salesmen used to cart around to sell their wares. Thank you for bringing this treasure back to life. Did the originals have golden legs? It seems a bit like "gilding the lily" to me.

Very nice but I wish you could have reused the slotted screws and square nuts instead of modern. The other is - you don't burn wood inside the oven. All the wood is burnt in the firebox where they gas burner is.

Beautiful job. I hesitate to use the word “restoration” as I believe you made it better than it was when manufactured. Great work mate. We had a similar, although less ornate unit on our farm. It only had the one firebox, where you installed the gas burner. Where you lit the fire was the oven. Please don’t think I’m criticising, I’m just pointing out the difference in ours to yours.

Amazing work, although I do hope you used heat resistant paint, however I don't think the gold leaf or the silver paint will hold up with actual heat from the flames. It wasn't constructed to be an actual usable device just a model so customers could see what it looks like. I bet the actual stove weighs several hundred pounds if it's made out of pure cast iron. Great work nonetheless, very pretty finished product.

Gold is actualy not anyway near that valuable as many people seem to think it is, with modern extractin methods, it requires very, very tiny amonth of pure gold to make a goldleaf but it make a huge differense in the final result compared to bronze or mica paint. :-)

I liked the work, good job. Same comment on others about the music. I turned the volume down, but i do enjoy videos where you can hear the work going on, without the music. But it's your channel. I wonder if this is when they first came out with gas stoves, where they were wood burning stoves converted to gas? My grandmother only had a wood burner when she was on the farm, and was a very good baker with it and it took a lot of knowledge maintaining the heat. It wasn't cast iron, so it was a little more modern, I'd bet it was from the 1930s. She was proud she had baked 3 wedding cakes in that stove! So I did notice the fire was started in the stove, but you already acknowledged in another comment. Were the grates under the gas diffuser put there in case the owner wanted to use wood instead of gas? Is she dual fuel? LOL PS the only nitpick about the restoration. I would have rather seen the round covers on the top made smooth, no lines from the lathe. It would have looked more like they really looked like, they would have been cast iron.

Music is , at the very least , too loud . I'm not sure why the nickel plating and gold leaf was necessary . That stove would have been entirely cast iron and likely done in stove black unless the company offered enamel colors . The biggest thing that I don't get is why " make it work " ? It's a piece of history . A salesman's sample from when most of America didn't have electric or gas ranges and used wood for cooking as well as heating . Seems a waste of time to add a propane burner , as well as a damned shame to punch holes in what was a solid piece of history .

Music to loud is using YT editing software. It always makes the music way to damn loud. One of the things I hate most on these types of video is loud annoying music. And I agree the gold leaf was not needed. Nickle plating I can see just to keep the iron from rusting. Also not really needed. Granted since it is cast iron I would have just cured it all like I do my cast iron pans and then not have to worry about rust.

Зря вы так плотно покрыли рисунок золотой патиной. Нужно было просто полусухой кистью пройтись по верхам рисунка и тогда бы он действительно заиграл. А так... низ под золото, крышка под серебро.
