Lance’s death is one of the most realistic deaths I’ve ever seen in a movie. The way he gets more and more pale. Fucking scary man.

Probably the most preventable death in the whole movie

It looks very real, he gets whiter and whiter or pale as soon as he is stabbed. Feel like a real warzone instead of a movie and fill my eyes 😢 every time. How do they make such a real change of skin colour.

I remember turning white as hell during Saving Private Ryan’s Normandy scene because I was not ready for that! Believe me or not but I actually passed out due to the intense blood and I’ve had a fear of heavy blood for years but the Normandy scene helped me overcome it

I'm not so sure about that. I mean the German pilot was just in a dogfight/crash landed into a barn/had two enemy soldiers helping him out of the wreckage, with his leg on fire/dragging him to safety/then speaking in a language the pilot didn't understand. I would say that the pilot was just acting out of fear, like most people would. Had he understood the two Tommies, he more than likely would've tried to parley with them, out of the fear of death. Imo.

I always thought it was really weird how fanatical this movie portayed the germans as, I mean this was WW1, not WW2, these weren't hyper-indoctrinated nazis instilled with fanaticism, they were just regular people.

The man they rescued from the burning plane was a German pilot, aka the enemy. The pilot saw an opportunity to attack when he was left with one soldier.
