So imagine you're 19 years old playing an iconic 90s hit with the Goo Goo Dolls...and the flip is your the Goo Goo Dolls and you have impacted a kids musical repertoire who is younger than the song he's playing!

I'm glad he didn't let the moment pass him by and that he couldn't turn away.

i love when bands do stuff like this. it costs them nothing, it always sets the crowd off, and it gives kids a night that will live with them forever

The Goo Goo Dolls have been my favorite band for years.. John Reznik is an awesome front man and writer.. He is always so humble and has a great sense of humor, even injured he still performed.

OMG! This has to be one of the most endearing videos… positive, musical, uniting fans. It’s got it all, and we all know a young guy like Jake working to break into the scene

What a great success story. Goo Goo Dolls started off as a punk band in Buffalo. Not a big fanbase. I remember seeing their name spray painted under a bridge. Years later they had a hit song. I was like "no way!" Then another and another hit. A friend of mine sat on an airplane next to the bass player and said he was the coolest guy ever. Super nice and talkative. So happy for them and glad they stayed together and still rockin. The dude can sing!

They still hang out in the Buffalo area and are good people. I've heard of them volunteering at the elk lodge in a buffalo suburb
