19 MORE Things You STILL Didn't Know In Zelda Breath of the Wild
Ойындар
This time in Breath of the Wild, we find more NPC dialogue hidden right under our noses, subtle secrets within the Lost Woods and Master Sword, and why Breath of the Wild's physics engine with gears is still impressive to this day.
In the video above, we cover 19 facts, tips and tricks that aren’t quite as well known, ranging from secrets to glitches, so me that are pretty simple and others that are fairly complex. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for four years at this point, and players have found some amazing things, intended or not, that keep the game and its sense of discovery feeling fresh.

I love how by "breaking" the game you can see just how deep the level of detail in BotW goes. Kite a Guardian across the map to an NPC? They'll have unique dialogue. Wedge a weapon into the gears of a machine? The whole thing comes to a stop. I can only imagine what secrets the sequel will have with its even _greater_ level of creative freedom.

I love these videos so much! Here's a little rare fact I can share: If you buy up all the mushrooms at the Gerudo Town's mushroom stall, the seller will lie to prospective customers saying that she sells mushrooms that are invisible except to those who are beautiful. NPCs that are examining the stall will comment on trying to see these invisible mushrooms and if they should believe it or not. Also, the movement of the clouds are actually affected by the wind, so if you observe closely, you can see that the clouds follow the wind's direction. It's easy to go unnoticed with shields on Link's back, but all handheld weapons have some kind of sheathe or attachment design for the weapon to be held in when unequipped, not just swords. Some of the designs are pretty fun or creative.

The NPC's Running for their live, and even faceplanting on the ground, really got me! I've never even considered it since these boss enemies never get close to civilisation
The physics engine in this game has always astounded me. Nintendo really does have the most talented programmers!
The jamming the gears part is truly impressive, it's probably something that most other games would cut corners making each section work or their own to avoid errors or bugs but not BoTW, they actually went the extra mile engineering the machines and gear systems for real instead of just the illusion of one.
@phoenix9531
Жыл бұрын
But its still an illusion. Its programmed to stop the whole machine once one part clogs. Usually, the force making it rotate would still persist, causing the object jammed in or the gear structure itself to potentially break. Of course that would be way to complicated to programm, so they simplify it.
@LineOfThy

@@phoenix9531 the object and gear system don't have the capacity to break from pressure, which is pretty consistent in the gamedev world.

A feature I have always wanted in botw (and hopefully totk) is ambushes in woods. Hear me out. I know there is the one area in Faron, but that’s not the whole idea. A tactic that was practiced by soldiers for centuries (even in Vietnam) was to listen for the birds. They usually tweet and sing, but if they stop making sound, it cold be a sign that someone, or something, is about to attack. Botw mainly has open fields, so it’s hard for this to work out. But with totk changing so much terrain and item usage, it could find a home here.

You said it. Hearing Link sigh (and act a little like a kid) as he sinks into a soft bed is actually rather wholesome. When was the last time the Hero of the Wild got a good night's sleep? He's out in the wilderness so often, saving people, fighting all of Ganon's monster horde, and on a quest to save Zelda and ultimately Hyrule, I say he deserves the best beds money can buy! (Frugal me did not want to spend rupees to stay at an inn AND pay extra for a higher quality bed, but after this watching video I will remedy that.)
i got that voiceline from teba @3:30 because i don't know how to complete the warbler's nest lol
6:35 I don't think links getting a massage
4:05 I think I actually got this dialogue because at the time I totally and wholeheartedly refused to do “The recital” mission

This is honestly one of my favourite deep dive series on any game ever. Can't wait to see what insanity you'll be finding in TotK!
Cant wait for the 5billion fuse combinations
1:38 can you dye the champions tunic with this?
Not sure if this was covered in a previous episode, but on the topic of geographical references to past games, you can find Linebeck island in the marsh area between kakariko village and the path to zora's domain. It's obviously a reference to phantom hour glass.
I honestly love these vids, i’m starting to grow away from BOTW with school and the new game coming out, but these vids are always fresh, (btw bots goin crazy in comments)
Link still has fun jumping on waterbeds, good for him to find fun in the little things
That details about the gear is so simple yet so amazing! I never knew that they were physics-based and all connected in real time! They didn’t have to do any of that, and it would have probably save time and effort, but they did anyway, even if it takes 6 years for most people to find out! Bless them.
That link to the past lost woods nod blew my mind @2:04
6:00 what REALLY sticks out to me is Rola from Kakariko. She fawns over you if you buy her arrows and laments her husband leaving her for his chickens. And then she starts REALLY fawining over you if you do her quest properly. Her message in the town diary outright says she wants the new guy to nock an arrow back for her, and how it's been "WAAAY" too long
Fun fact! You don’t need a torch to follow the wind in the lost woods. You can just see where the white dots in the air goes (which is likely some seeds of some flower) and they’ll follow the wind as well and Change with it.

You have to wonder, with the gear system shown in this episode, if the Lost Woods wind is a system...not just "Link is standing here, so show the wind flowing this direction" but if there is actually a channel of wind and all that.
i love the link to the past references so much! but I particularly love the how-it-was-made kind of tidbits the most.
man this is such a good series, cant wait to see what you guys find in totk
The absolute coolest of this list is how detailed the dev team was by implementing actual working physics for cog wheels. TatlTael was not an unknown fact on wordplay. Anyone who played Majora's Mask, even children, immediately caught that: "Tattletale"
This has to be the greatest series devoted to a single game of all time. Just incredible.
After completing all 4 devine beasts and if you have the dlc, Zelda will tell you, that she is waiting inside Hyrule castle. The next loading screen or after you teleport, Zelda will tell you to go to the shrine of resurection. But did you know, the game will actually know, If you are inside of the shrine? After completing the fourth divine beast, teleport to the shrine of resurection right away and Zelda will say "here in the shrine of" instead of "go to the shrine of resurection"... at least in the german version This is crazy Nintendo
the year is 2420. 10 more things you didnt know about tears of the kingdom
Some other lighting affects I've noticed are standing behind the big gold part of the Kakariko Fairy Foundtain turns everything gold, and standing on top of Kilton little shop part under his big balloon-looking thing at Tarrey Town will turn the lake lots of different colours depending on where you put the camera.
As amazing as this is, and for how much it shows the love and care the team put into sling it, I'm so ready to do it all over again

Sad this is the last one of the series, especially as I’ll have to take a break from them until I get round to playing a decent chunk of TotK. Super impressive ... and I mean both the game development and the discoveries you guys are finding!
Did you know you can buy shield near Trilby Plain? Under the big tree there is a guy that sell you three shield. Trilby Plain is near the Lost Woods stable.
The Final episode that has gone for almost 6 years. Im impressed.
Did you know that if you get on top of a Guardian a beeping noise will be heard showing that an alarm is going off because of the malice in the gears
Gamespot! I found out in totk, when malice goes in the bokos. Its actually some kind of boko soul? If you pause the trailer at the right time then look to the left. You will see a "boko soul" go in to the boko. Theory - All other monsters also have these "monster souls", But I don't think so for Stone Taluses = Because its a rock.
