#19 How much did our Greek house cost? Renovating an old house in Greece.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video we continue to renovate our old Greek house which was abandoned for more than 20 years before we bought it.
But first we celebrate Geralt's Birthday! And a bit later we will also meet our new Greek friends who live nearby.
We try to finish as much as we can before we leave our house again. I secure the water heater to the roof, install several lights and put porcelain tiles again. Meanwhile Alexandra finishes assembling the dresser and continues work on the ceiling in the living room.
Before leaving, I'm explaining why we bought this house, how much did it cost to us and where is it located.

Спасибо! Мы знаем всех соседей вокруг, они знают нас, а также есть камеры и охрана . В случае движа прилетают за пару минут. Кроме того, у нас там не остаётся особо ценных вещей, когда мы уезжаем.
Amazing job you did ❤, You should try cutting the pine trees around you, so yout house is safe in case of fire...

Thank you! We've cut the small ones nearby which could grow but the rest are very thick and old. Also we like how they look so we take the risk I guess...

I am Greece, in Greece it is forbidden to cut down trees, all trees belong to the forest authority, and these black firs produce a resin that special people collect and do business
I enjoy watching your videos. What part of Greece is your house in?

Thank you for watching! It's Northern Greece, not far away from Thessaloniki.
Beautiful location, remote, peaceful in nature. The trees are a fire risk? They seem to cast a lot of shade on the property and cut down the natural light?

Yes they are a fire risk indeed. But this is a tradeoff - we love them. And yes, they hide the sun quite a bit, this affects the solar system and reduces amount of electricity produced unfortunately.

Maybe now you have the drone, show the size of the land and the direction to the sea.

I've kinda shown the direction to the sea in the end of the video. But you're right, I could have shown more. I'll try to do it better. Regarding the size of the plot, we still don't really realize the size of it. We almost never go that deep into it :D But the time will come and we will start working on it as well, since for now we only work on the house itself and the nearest garden.

¡Hola! Porque trabajamos en Alemania y no podemos vivir en esta casa permanentemente. No tenemos pasaporte europeo. Así que estamos obligados a vivir donde trabajamos.

Thank you for watching! We didn't decide yet. We would like to permanently move and work remotely, but we're not EU citizens so we can't just simply move, we're obliged to work from Germany currently. Otherwise our visas wouldn't work.

@@willemvdspek no, unfortunately it's not that easy for us. Our passports are not German and not European. We can move almost freely everywhere, but we are obliged to stay in Germany for at least 6 months per year.

We are at the Northern Greece.
talk a little more, it’s a ruin and it needs explaining. I have a house in Cyprus, it’s a pain in in the arse looking after it but I realise how hard it is.

Oh it is not easy indeed, however I love it a lot and it even motivates me to live I'd say. Every day I think about returning there.
