"19.Divizijas dziesma" - Latvian version of "Teufelslied"

In Latvia, the anthem of the 19th SS Division was written to this music. Since the division was formed in 1944, the words of the anthem of this division are associated with revenge for the homeland. The song was performed by the folk ensemble Vilki.

Weird how every SS ethnic unit uses this melody
This is definitely lite version of original frightening march. Honestly, I like this more bc it has own energy, more patriotic and less cruel (but it’s still made from ss march 💀💀💀). And I heard that there was old song, which was used by freikorps in 1919, and original creators of teufelslied, the two oberleutnants from legion kondor, stole it from there. I wonder if it’s true or not… Also, thank you for your content.

It has less hatred in it and it shows a less careless attitude towards the war crimes. Anyway, the song itself might be fine but the way the used it and who used it...

This is a Latvian legionary song in the style of a German war march, which was written as the unofficial anthem of the 19th Latvian SS volunteer division. The division was formed in 1943, so the lyrics of the song are related to revenge for the motherland.
