In the end, we can say we made him our own after being something of a nomad. Intelligent and above all selfless in blue. Its also notable that this season came after the low in Moscow. Great player

@@flamingravenmc4058 Yeah, he really didn't score "all the time". And I think there was never a PL golden boot winner with less goals. He was good though! Just very inconsistent and changing clubs all the time. There was a time were he was the player with the highest amount of transfer fees payed, for a single player combined.

Anelka played for so many teams but i feel like Chelsea is where he was at his happiest. Brought in at first as back up to Drogba, had an incredible season in 08-09 (starring role considering Drogba was out injured for much of it). Such an integral member in that 9-10 squad, Joe Cole missed out but Anelka flourished in that RW position in the 4-3-3.

He was just a finisher at this point, he lost it after Madrid... confidence was shot in terms of his overall game as they essential told him all he had to do was score goals hence why he was considered so selfish (even as a person). He would have been as good as TiTi had he stayed at arsenal and developed

Anelka always had a reputation for sulking and never settling at a club but when he came to us he never sulked once was very professional even when played out of position.
Its special to note how drogba was the assist king for some of the goals Anelka scored. No selfishness involved..

my favourite squad was 2012 i know we won the champions league its easy to pick that but everyone in the team just seemed they wanted to be there and the chemistry in the squad was second to none.there was no egos and every player played for the badge.thats how we won the champions league.heart

He probably spent his best years at Chelsea. Never complained, always gave everything on the pitch. And a true bromance between Drogba, Malouda and Anelka.

@@ABQMagni5 why he always tap in? It is because of his positioning. That is one of the art that needed to be a good foward. A tap in also considered a goal. It doesn't matter how the goal was scored, it is all about the goal that count. If the goal was beautiful then it is a bonus.

What baffles me is that Anelka, who I've always loved and admired as a player, can win the golden boot but Hazard never did. I guess with Salah as competition it was impossible, but I wonder, what about the seasons previous to 2018/19. Playmaker of the season is also prestigious.

I also watched gerrard here and there every week. THERES NO DIFFERENCE in DEFENCE between these two. Lampard can defend just like gerrard , his work rate was the same. Anelka will and always be an enigma. One of my favourite players. His presence, wit in the box, composure, pace and skill. He has a distinct style and attitude about him. I think he was respected amongst his fellow professionals. Great player 👊
