I’ve been waiting and attempting to get around folks that do some re-enacting that era and you know what? I don’t have all the clothing and stuffies yet but I’m going to do the same. It’ll just be me but the older one gets the less it matters. 🙏🏻👍

Although, fellowship with others that enjoy our hobby is greatly missed. We can still keep the spirit of reenactment alive, by working on our kit, continuing to do research and getting a little mud on our moccasins. So , here’s to hope for a better new year, CHEERS !

I was shown how old timers would fill the pan with powder then hold the fire-starting fluff next to the pan and pull the trigger. The heat of the igniting powder catches the fluff on fire. I have used a blank charge and a little dried grass in my Dragoon pistol and this worked very well.
