My bet is they are all Bodyless forms of AI and they seek their "Creator", a Human in the end. Ling Li can also Mean Zero/One (as in binary core). So its not like Matrix or other simulations we had before. Its kind of a "inverted Matrix" where AI wants to Know what "real" is. (in their eyes the World where God/Father/creator lives.). I bet they do a twist like this because Human in a Matrix was already done many times before. So its maybe more like "Tron" in the end. They are Programms./Code
