1812: A Canadian Perspective
The War of 1812 was a dramatic event in Canadian history. But what was at stake, and who won? The exhibition 1812 at the Canadian War Museum reveals that the answer to this question depends on perspective.
The exhibition takes a unique approach, exploring the war through the eyes of the four main participants: Canadians (including Canadian First Peoples), Americans, the British, and Native Americans.
We invited John Irving, President of the New Brunswick Museum Board of Directors, to say a few words on Canada's perspective of the War of 1812.

When he says "the longest undefended border" I'm assuming he means in distance, correct? Because if he means the longest in terms of time it's been undefended then he's mistaken.

Canada wasn't a winner we were the only actually losers of the war, Canada was native American land not Britishs, the British betrayed Canada (native) saying that if you fight with us we will give you an Independent native nation , they never did, and thousands of natives lost their lives for a false promise.
