    I was looking how to make relief carvings. Other youtube videos show how to do it with a ton of different chisels... I'm glad all you need is a good carving knife. One tool is expensive enough....

    Ordering a knife pre made and sharpened is ideal, but.. I used a $26 Gerber multi tool to carve wood and stone. Worked just fine for me. But if you want clean cuts with zero to little clean up, a carving knife is best and worth the investment.

    Hey Max, this is a small box with the swirl on top so carving the swirl will take about one hour or so. Glad you liked the pointers. More at mychipcarving.com

    Custom work carve by hand, mass production by CNC. Same for selling. Sell one carve by hand, sell 1000 carve on CNC machine.

    beautiful because its just my opinion you can do better wood carving profesional look at the turkish wood carvers they do very very good things and you can do that to.Its good to carve in our own stil but you can learn from other people and they can from you but its very beatifull what you do and thanks thats very nice

    Hi Bob, you also asked about the plastic 12" t-square I used to sell in my store. You can find one at Hobby Lobby or I'd guess on Amazon. I used to stock them but I now teach pattern creation using the Pattern Wizard software.

    +Rodolfo Dias Venancio With proper technique when holding the knife, you will not cut yourself. Good technique means good, safe carving. Look at my earlier lesson on how to hold the knife. I've taught and carved 30+ years and have never cut myself. Thanks for your comment!

    As long as the thumb is locked to the handle, it’s safe. Tricky though. I used to tape or rubber band my thumb to my knife when first starting.
