Bangalore, officially known as Bengaluru is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of over ten million, making it a megacity and the third-most populous city and fifth-most populous urban agglomeration in India.

The British troops which were first stationed at Srirangapatna after the fall of Tipu Sultan in 1799 were later shifted to the Civil and Military Station of Bangalore in 1809.

Then it was only Bangaloreans who lived in Bangalore.. The city was clean n rightly populated... Now it's overpopulated n ppl from outside don't have tht emotional attachment n care least abt its environment causing hell a lot of pollution. I wish Bangalore still remained as it was in these pictures😌 Proud to be a Bangalorean... Namma Bengaluru is always love❤️

Old Delhi to you and video
Me first visited Bangalore (Sai Ashrama,) Whitefield in 1972. Small small constructions were on at many places then. "Pensioners' Paradise" as it was known then, was fast disappearing. Many roads were single lane. In fact, outside Sai Ashram, Whitefield, only a dusty road was leading to it. The Whitefield Railway Stn nearby was not particularly noteworthy too, then.

tq for this video
💛❤super
As much as I am happy with the video and love looking at old Bangalore photos, it is a bit weird to see incorrect dates mentioned with the photos.. like the town hall junction in 1895! There is a diesel bus in the picture.. obviously it can't be 1895.. Incase you are not aware of the dates, then you don't need to show the dates.. we will be happy to see the picture itself..
😍😍😍😍😍 😘 super
In 1895 there was no scooter, bus, Canara bamk or town hall building. The road was a mud road..
Bangalore railway looks new old station must have been different
Very Nice

Thanks for the rare photos. What a beautiful city it was till the computer and internet monster colonized Bangalore! Some of the dates are wrong. For example the Town Hall Junction has been marked 1895. The photo must be from the 1970’s. Note the Canara Bank and Insurance buildings opposite.

Yes. Agreed.. may be a typo
I was in Bangalore in February 2019 and it was chaos. The traffic was scary, the pollution terrible and the city was a mess with garbage on every corner. These pictures of a long past Bangalore look fantastic. It looks like Bangalore was cleaner 130 years ago. What has happened. Is the population increase the cause of all the garbage and the bad driving habits.

First of all population is the big factor and the city is not maintain proper way. Smart technology is needed for this big city to make city polution free.

It's all because of the people carelessness , 10 millions of people living the city and most of them are outsiders . And no one cares government rules and Government doesn't care about the city and its people . Problem with everything here .

@@tabrezpasha2642 : You maybe right. I have travelled all over India and the traffic in Mumbai now is very bad. Bombay, where I was born over 65 years ago, the traffic and the trains were bad but not terrible. Even in parts Kerala the traffic and the garbage now is very bad. When my family was on a visit to Kerala in 1962, I remember very little traffic and very little pollution. But this was another time. Yes, I know that population growth over the last 60 years has been enormous, but corruption now is an even bigger factor in the way things are all over India. Even in Rajasthan ( I loved Jaipur, Udaipur,Pushkar, Jodhpur etc.) I found traffic in the major cities terrible. Even, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana the pollution was bad and the traffic was terrible. Nevertheless, I love visiting India and love visiting and meeting people in different parts of my birth place. I have not been to West Bengal or Assam in almost 37 years, so I do not know what the situation are in these two states at the present time. Most recently, 2019, I was in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. I would like to visit India soon, maybe in November 2021?
At 1:43, this is wrong info bro. There is no chance that photo could have been taken in 1880 because the first proper car was made in 1886 and cars like ambassador (which seem to be shown in the pic) wasn't manufactured until 1958. I am a Bangalorean and I would really really love to see pics of my city in those early days, but still you should give correct information and not wrong.
2:32 what does "Main Street" mentioned here correspond to in today's Bengaluru?
B'LURU🥰
NAMMA BENGALURU ❤️❤️
All those constructions by British people.
Chowdayah memorial hall ne thorsilla bro
Wow 1880 there were buses
You've shown the fort but you haven't shown a palace on kilari road!

There is a bus in the picture! Obviously it is not 1895.. They have put random dates in the video.. as if nobody will notice!😄
At 0.33 pic of town hall is not of 1895 because there were no cars n bus or two wheeler at tat time. First car was invented in 1886 n came to India late 1900 so please don't put without authentic information
Father of the bengaluru
1:38 vidhana soudha
1.40 is vidhana soudha
Then you show to bangalore in 1600 century.
@3:11 there was a beef and poultry market in Bangalore.
The information is wrong... The first bus service was happened in 1939... Don't give wrong updated...
Town hall was built in 1935 how it was there in 1895, are you fooling peoples.
Vidhan Soudha
0:31 Definitely not 1895, there are buses, cars, and bajaj-ish two wheelers in that snap. 2:44 might also be not 1939, looks quite modern.
Vidhana soudha is this
bOGUS. sOME STRUCTURES WERE NOT EVEN THERE IN THAT TIME.
Fake fake fake. Bloody hell. Buses were not there in Bangalore in the 1800s. Town hall was not even built.
