The formation of Hungary by the Magyars due to being pushed west by the Pechenegs comes to mind. Time for a live stream I think. Always good to see medieval battle mechanics. Pathfinding is a bit wonky, and they appear to take a while to take orders - but I’ve always thought that was deliberate. The engine certainly contrasts with WH et al. It’s far too arcadey these days - neat marching units (even of goblins!) with bright banners obscuring the actual unit. Versus here where men are seen pushed out at the sides (often not doing much if you zoom in - but aesthetically its cool), and a need to be much more aware of the battle - more limited mini map and especially not immediately clear where the general or elite troops are - or that artillery are raining destruction! Take that engine and enhance pathfinding, and we’d be golden. The AI is predictable, but far far less stupid than WH et al.

@@booradley6832 You are not using the ratio that matters. The best stat for government debt is, debt to GDP which the ratio of interest on debt to the gdp growth. The total debt doesn't matter that much. The USA raises the debt ceiling all the time. However the government doesn't use the debt to invest in growth; which has been stuck around 2% as long as I can remember. 2% of 26 trillion GDP is a lot but basically all of it has been going to interest on the debt, which has also been around 2% for a long time as well. Until recently it went to 3%. Unless that is reversed in the next few years USA will create the worlds biggest debt trap for itself. The inflation is already being felt somewhat. On the other hand the russian economy isn't exactly impressive at 2 trillion GDP but their debt to GDP ratio is 17% (on a good year), compared to USA which has a debt to gdp of 129% since last year, which is due to that above average 3% interest rate. Anything above 100% is needless to say, very bad and will just about guarantee a recession and an enormous expansion of debt. In fact the US GDP is almost all hollow because its service and speculation economy along with a net trade deficit. That is someone badly needs to invest in real production and soon.

Love the return to Medieval 2! Still my favorite total war. Perhaps a series of Medieval 2 Tier List videos could be fun? It's probably a lot of work for an old game such as this but I bet a lot of your viewers would get a kick out of it!

Still nothing compared to the LEGENDARY 600k FLORINS of Debt the Kingdom of France had in your other Disaster save. I gotta question who keeps lending these guys this money? Merchants you got some explaining to do. It's not like medieval kings in the 11th century could just fire up the printer and make more gold coins, someone's gotta be giving them this money.

this is so cool, the easteward migrations caused by western horse raiders are literally one of the greatest forces history has seen, Rome fell to the geranic tribles fleeing the huns. its so interesting to see a "simmulation" like this cause the same thing

I'm glad youre liking what you're doing. It makes me so fucking happy. The emotion in your voice is genuine, and the views show it. We agree, the older games are much more dynamic and just better to play and watch. There is also more learning content in the old games due to the learning curve.
