To the people watching this because you have never dated: You are not missing out. It's very rarely that you find your "one true love" in your first relationship. Some people do, but for most of us It's usually trial and error. I've been dating for 8 years and I just recently found a person who makes me feel cared for and loved in a relationship. If I could go back in time I would gladly have stayed single up until I met this person (not that the people I dated before were terrible, just not worth it!). So don't feel pressured! We all have a different rhythm in life and your value is not determined by having a romantic partner.

Hi, thanks, I’m 18 and tbh I was never interested in dating bc of 3 factors: I move a lot, I felt guys were too immature, so I decided to wait till an age they were a bit more responsible and I felt that I needed to feel good being alone first before having something with someone. Currently, I’m still single and I’ll go to college soon… and I’d like to gain some experience and date some ppl, have some fun before actually having a serious relationship. I’ve come to the point where, even though sometimes I do feel a bit lonely (romantically speaking), I’m okay with that, I do like being by my own. But, I’m open to also give myself a chance to experience new things. I’d like to someday find the one, but I’m not in a hurry and I’m glad to not have dated. I think, that now that I am a bit older, I’ll be responsible about it and instead of thinking of finding true love, I’ll have some fun till it eventually comes to me :)

I suppose, but I’m also polyamorous (in theory lol, still never dated one person, let alone more than one) and don’t really believe in a “one true love,” at least not for myself. But I also want the experience that comes with relationships. I’d be okay if my first isn’t forever, so long as we can make each other happy for awhile and learn and grow from the attempt. It makes me nervous to date because I missed the crucial high school/college years where you’re supposed to be able to try and fail and learn what you like.

I think it's very valuable to have relationship experiences as experience is the best teacher. I have learned some of my most important lessons through relationships. They have all ended in disappointment up until now, but that is only because I was allowing stuff. You can always find something constructive in every experience if you try. Personally, I use my past experiences as pointers to what I need to improve at. I'm sure you and your partner are better partners to each other than you were to your first partners soooo no point in regretting anything and I wish you 2 the best ❤ It's very possible that the first relationship we have may not last, but I think there's a big lesson even behind that. It may be painful, but with time you learn to not grip as hard to circumstances, which provides less suffering in the future. The best part of heartbreak is that each time it becomes easier to manage and now I can actually use it as fuel to a brighter tomorrow. I am extremely jaded rn but it's a stage that's necessary because I used to idealize love too much and I'm building my own idea of it.

Just to give others some encouragement or advice :) I am 30-40 years old & have never been in a relationship with someone, much due to traumas repeating themselves & abusive harsh ppl in closest surroundings. And developing physiological illnesses. I made my decision knowing that my family which i love, but degrades me & puts me down without being aware of it or think they have a say about me, i told them that I am done & im going to continue life without them, 2 weeks ago. I kid you not, my spirit feels so much freer, even if im scared doing & being completely alone, since i have been in need of help, i realized being in need of their help was what made me stuck in an under position & not being able to walk away earlier. But ive known for years & expressed for years that i will leave the family because of the treatment. Finally when i did it, they suddenly became nicer, offered me help to keep being a part of their lives. But now i am free in the sense i take all decisions by myself, and just have to trust & rely that it will be fine. Made me believe in myself again and a lot of blocks just fell away, it was like i was seeing my path more clesrly, knowing i had to do everything on my own & go for it, take charge of my life, because no one's going to be there for you or you may not get the support that you need. Made me feel happy i got my power back in my hands. And since all of their nasty snarky commrnts about not looking good enough or being good enough, no acvomplishments, it made a huge impact in all areas of my life, specially in all relations, & men. Ive always knlwn my worth :) And i guesw i font need other ppl's approval or validation any longer, because majority of ppl just talk, they dont think before, the reprecussions of how they make others feel. @@UserAs3 i'm really sorry to hear anout your situation, don't worry Sis, make a determined decision to change things around you, whether bringing up this to solve so that you can stay, or see if you can find a room mate/study abroad. Or just plan a route for you to start over again, i knew women who could only leave their family only if they were married, i dont think you should force yourself to go through with something like that unless you really fund someone compatible. I am slowly opening up to the idea of being courted, which i wasnt in a long long time, its a big step for me to just self willingly wanting to talk to a man lol, and give things chances, it doesnt have to have an outcome, even though i am ofc looking for a committed relationship, i think it's just good to get out there & be relaxed about it, get to know who oneself is also during the courting period. I do wish i would have given this a chance a lot sooner, i made it a big thing in my mind, but i guess i had a lot of healing to be done to get to this point. There are good guys out there, just dont rush into something you cant back away from, take small steps.
