People change, she showed dark tendencies when given power, in a way it was inevitable, although I agree the final product felt rushed and would have benefited from another season to develop that change further

It´s not about the madness of Daenerys, is how D & D write this season. It´s ironic that a hero like Dany ends like a Mad Queen but is Game of Thrones, it had to occur. I hope George R R Martin gave us a justification for the madness of Daenerys, in the books.

@@gilgamesh8334 Westeros has one political entity which is the Seven Kingdoms but Essos has no such entity so not every part of Essos has the same laws. Some places in Essos practice slavery like Volantis and Slaver's Bay but in Braavos and Pentos for example slavery is illegal. Also the most advanced civilization in the world was born in Valyria which is in Essos although it was destroyed, their legacy still remains in Essos for example some cities in Essos is more advanced in architecture and smithing than Westeros.

It's even more painful when you listen to this and then remember how D&D destroyed Daenerys.

After the he was betrayed and held captive at dusk and duskendale he SLOWLY started to get mad, he violently raped his queen, saw enemies everywhere and in anyone even in Rhaegar, became completely paranoid and depressed, ect.... This is believable. Daenerys suddenly committing a genocide after they removed her make up for the “psycho” look is not.

It's a cautionary tale of the white savour trope, she gave the people of mereen what they wanted by liberating them and helped them get freedom. She went to westoros, acted entitled af from her huge ego, thought she was liberating kings landing and got pissed off what she thought was "liberating" turned to conquering.

Megan Vincent That is what the show intended to do, but it didn’t translate to that for most of us. Trying to convey Daenerys as the “mad queen” in just 2 episodes is a huge mistake. It seemed forced and out of place. If they couldn’t afford to make more seasons to develop her “mad queen” side then they should’ve ended the show with Daenerys as what we know her, a just, fair, liberator of a Queen.

That's how I'll always remember her, gentle, just and caring

That is how I always saw Dany too. People in Westeros ignored her and her "baby dragons." Once she was ready to conquer, it should have been too late for them. Season 7 and 8 was so utterly disappointing. She had everything in her arsenal to take King's Landing in a night and then fight the Others. If she was going to become the "Mad Queen," it should have been developed over an entire season or two. Season 5 and 6 had problems, but that's NOTHING compared to the shitty season 7 and the even worse season 8. Dany brought hope to viewers. As you said, hope to a brighter future. I literally cried the first time I saw this scene because that's exactly how I pictured her. She was practically a messiah.

This song hits REALLY hard. Literal tears. Ramin Djawdi didn't disappoint. Each song he made told a story for everyone. I'm still not over what happened to her. I'm gonna always remember her as "Mhysa" not the absolutely stupid "Queen of Ashes.'

homebrew I know how you feel I really do it’s heartbreaking to watch a character develop and become so strong and have a real chance at the Game to be set aside like that when the purpose of her is done (after helping with the north and night king)

I have been wondering how could musicians write music exactly dedicated for a scene, and each time making a different melody, that fits exactly the tone of the scene, adventurous, happy, sad, barbaric, hypemusic, fighting scenes etc. It's trully majestic. Like what Howard Shore with LotR did, Hans Zimmer with his films, John Williams with Star wars and Ramin with GoT!

im not an expert but i believe the soundtrack is written first and then they edit it later in the actual film. so this is from the OST but the version you hear in film may be cut in certain places to match the scene

But I think in this case and for others they create a general theme (for the Targaryen, Stark,...) and then write alternate scores that match the rythm of the scenes from it !

That was her character though, you could tell from the first book and season it was just hella rushed and didn't make sense under the circumstance but context and character wise it was fitting and brilliant. She was my favourite character before settling down to learn how to rule and I loved her turn

Danny and rhae 's themes are on next level They give real goosebumps

In my opinion this is the best score in the whole series and no one can change my mind on this. Perfectly captured Danys character and in combination with the scene it’s just perfect.

How are some human beings capable of this? What leds them to choose the right ones from thousands of tones? How different are their brains from ours? We don't share the same universe. And I am so so grateful for all these sneak peeks. Thats what I live for. Djawadi looped, eyes closed and for a few moments, I allow myself to feel like I am part of his world. For me, this music is that thing "greater than we are" in which we all eventually need to believe.
