    The issue is that we barely trust ourselves due to our bad attitudes including greediness, selfishness, unseriousness and so on. If not for these attitudes, we can join forces together to create businesses here in abroad and extend them to Ghana. We shouldn’t always rely on others to employ us. Those in Gh need serious education and change in lifestyle orientation else we ain’t going nowhere.

Let’s assume an individual goes to the barber shop every 2 weeks, can you imagine how much that will be in a year? I’m not against traveling if that’s your goal but remember it comes with a huge challenge. I’m happy with his decision to go home. At least he will find some happiness. There’s no happiness in the western world.

    You will not be accepted back home in Ghana because some you of create the impression that travelling to Europe and USA is like being in paradise. You listen to the likes of TWENEJONAS and others who claim abroad is like heaven on earth. When you say life is not easy, Ghanaians tell you to come home, which isn't easy. It's not everyone who will succeed when you travel. Travelling abroad doesn't mean you will succeed. You may have money to feed, but getting money to even buy ticket to travel becomes a bigger problem. Before you travel abroad make sure you have a job ready for you or you will not stay jobless for a long time before getting one. Plan well if things are going well for you. Others have made it through difficult times. Those of you in Ghana who tell others to come home if life is difficult should stop. Travelling abroad is not being in paradise. You need to work hard even more than in your own country.

    @@nanakay7149 Who do you expect to harvest the tomatoes in Palermo, the citizens or the undocumented migrants 😂? FYI, you cannot go to someone's country without permission, education or any relevant skills and expect to get your dream job unless you are dreaming. Life is a step by step process and you start from the bottom before you get to the top. These people will refuse to do the same job if they were in Ghana maybe because they will be given peanuts. In Ghana, we tend to respect only white collar jobs and this is a major impediment to progress since every aspect of the economy is relevant. The earlier we start to also value blue-collar jobs and learn to polish or professionalise them, the better for the economy.

  • @nestanat

    @nestanat

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are joking right? 🤣. If almost 70% of the population are jobless then do you mean that those working in the government institutions, tourist sector, construction industry, tile industry, schools, warehouses, trains, buses, big companies including Ferrari, Maserati, iveco, fendi, fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, Fincantieri, Costa Crociera, Engel, Agip, Piaggio Aerospace, Pirelli, Gucci, Prada, Zanotti Vespa, Versace, Armani, Ducati, Olivetti, Nutella, D&G, and the thousands of Italian tech companies and MNC corporations based in Italy are ghosts or animals? 😁. Although the country’s economy is slow recently being the 4th largest in Europe and the 8th in the world, your assumption is baseless. Most of the shitty jobs in Italy like ‘conceria’ and so on are usually done by immigrants so any Italian who complains of lack of job is just lazy and there is nothing stopping him or her from doing the same shitty jobs the immigrants usually do. The issue is the uncontrolled influx of millions of illegal migrants through the Mediterranean Sea after the Libyan and Syrian civil wars of which the numbers exceed the available the job opportunities in the country. We can argue that Italians are not as welcoming as the English speaking Western countries in terms of offering white collar jobs and certain job opportunities but most immigrants over there do not like going to school or learn anyway. Maybe you went there during the time of heightened refugee crisis. Currently, none of my friends or the people I know there is jobless. The best way to travel abroad is through legal means as suggested by the interviewee.

    Why is he forcing himself to be in someone else’s country? smh🤦🏾. Besides, Sicily and it’s regional capital, Palermo, are among the poorest regions in Italy according to “European standards”. He has been staying there for 17 good years under no coercion and still complains, the irony. He is acting as if he has been tied to the country or his Ghanaian passport has been seized from him to the point that he can’t go back home. Sometimes the Italian city councils ask immigrants who are tired of living there to come out so they can sponsor their trips back home and also give them some small funds to settle when they get to their various home countries. But guess what? These same irresponsible people will resist and stay back. Some of these guys are drunkards and do not have any vision in life.

    That’s true bro, but it amazes me that he lived at the same place for donkey years (1,2,3,4,5,...17 years) without making any progress but kept on living there (maybe he liked the lifestyle there who knows). If he had managed to get a permanent residence permit, he could have moved to the North or central Italy to secure a proper job unlike the ‘black’ jobs they do in the South. Someone who has lived there for 17 years is supposed to speak the language very well which is a huge advantage in searching for job at anywhere in Italy. I have a lot of friends who came to the North of Italy in 2011 as refugees and guess what, those who learned the language very quick managed to find jobs immediately after the government gave documents. As at now, all of them who stayed back have gotten jobs and some are paid between €1800 and €2000 including the extra employment benefits (settetrenta, tredicicissimo, quartodicessimo etc.). One thing I’ve realised is that most Ghanaians do not want to go to school there (because they perceive that it is worthless) and always focus on finding labour jobs and getting paid while also refusing to learn the language very well which is quite impossible especially when the country was undergoing a recession aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis and the subsequent refugee crisis as a result of the Libyan civil war. Those who are fluent in the language and have schooled are more confident in searching for jobs compared to those who don’t speak or speak broken Italian which the Italians find difficult to understand. The latter can only find jobs through connection cuz even to go to employment agencies, they always require assistance or interpreters and sometimes people to prepare CVs for them. They also fail to realise that you can search for jobs online too. Imagine people signing contracts they have no knowledge of due to language barrier and the fact that Italians do not fancy the English language. These are my few observations tho. He had the opportunity to make a good life for himself in all those years if he really wanted to.

Even in America not all states are the same so if things are stuff in one place masa make wild and move to another state. But abroshi both Europe and America is far better but nothing is given you have to earn it . In life you get what you deserve not what you want. So force oo

I won't work 16 hours a day in the States, buy a car, ship it to GH and let some useless dude ruin the car that I bought with my hard-earned money. No way sir. Buy your own car and ruin it. You won't ruin my car for me. I rather prefer that I give you money to take dropping or uber than to give you my car keys. I will lock my car in my garage until I am down there in GH to drive my own car. What are you telling me? Buy your own car. Working in minus 22 degrees in the cold is not easy.
