First, he rarely in Korea so, its hard to EXO members to cover his part. Second, SM vocal practice said Lay's voice really sweet and thin. Thats why in Korean version, he rarely have lines. Same goes to Xiumin. His voice thin too. But now, he get more line than Lay because Lay currently busy in China. Lay and Xiumin can reach highnotes easily and yes they can sing but their voice colour doesnt suit their song well. Like recently Monster song. Kai got more part because his voice suit the song well. But if you see Call me baby era, Yixing got more line. Its about song. Sorry bad english 😊 Third, Atlast SM give him Solo debut. isnt it enough?

It's because of Lay's activities in China, it will be hard for the members to cover Lay's parts when he's missing. He has less lines so they don't need to change their line distribution or dance too much when he's not with exo.

Yixing’s voice really suits traditional Chinese music, he has such good tone and rhythm with it. I wish he got to promote his vocal talent more in exo and hopefully he can in the future. He truly is phenomenal.
