My theory with resin is (much like the arctic and Antarctic) that warm ‘water’ rises and cold sinks and that’s why it’s swirls ❤️ I love watching you try your own ideas. Your brain works a lot like mine and the urge to resist ‘I wonder what would happen if I did this’ is just too strong 😂

Whether success or miss in your eyes, all your creations are beautiful! It’s taken me several (4 successes of 10) attempts to finally (she says hopefully) nail down the dragon scale effect, and now two fails at the Larimar effects, but I’m not giving up; you provide much inspiration with every tweak you make. Oh, *WOWWW!!* LOOK at that, Julie! It's a rose! 😊 I have *got* to get these molds! IDEA: Do the same thing, but put in a drop of color in the middle, THEN follow with some clear? Or vise-versa: clear, then color in the middle? That might prevent the white from taking over the center...maybe? I'm still hoping you will do another one with the druzy insert! I LOVED that effect!

It might be neat to see multiple little druzzy inserts scattered in a single piece; like a slice of a geode thunderegg that had a wildly shaped bubble in the middle, but the inserts are what tell the story of the shape since the coaster/tray is emulating a sliced rock. A "river stone" live edge might be complementary to the sliced geode look, but the druzzy crystal edge is perfect for unifying it like it was a little crystal stalactite inside the geode, too.

Can you see the shimmer from the mica? The center swirl first looks like a rose, but when I look closer, I see the face of a Barn Owl.

That time lapse is great to watch. What was the actual time?

I might be leaning to the heat of the resin is pushing everything outwards, given the stuff you put in the middle sometimes it could be insolating the heat from itself so if you had something like some aluminum shavings that could absorb heat, might change how it reacts a bit. I know it tends to be a no no on resin but if you had resin that was mixed at a different time added into the middle at the end of the pour. Have some resin sitting for an amount of time off on the side then you made fresh resin and done up all the pours like normal and at the end added the one set aside to the middle at the end. Might set up quicker in the middle and somewhat lock a color pattern in the middle and slightly fade out with the newer as it cures. If you could do up 2 different ones and have one normal room temp and one outside if its cold enough or maybe near fridge temp. Let both cure and see how the pattern reacts between the 2, could be better or worse or just no change at all.

Hmm... I think it was doing that second ring in the middle that disrupted the effect this time. Just doing one ring around the edges probably would have given you what you wanted. Still turned out really pretty though so you still won even if the result was different than expected. 😁👍

How about using black cast and craft and use bright pink and bright lime green?!?!? Something new to experience!.

I’d like to see this effect done with black instead of white, just as an experiment. Maybe even non-neutrals.
