What's more amazing is the way he played. He did everything like by memory, and even his first goal celebration in national team was simple. He was very confident and comfortable around his teammates. As a new comer, he possessed so many things in his repertoire. He used both feet during the whole game to do all; dribbling, passing, shooting etc. He scored the first goal quickly after the rebound using his left foot. He was a crack from the start!

Porque a copa e algo muito mais sério o pessoal ali joga mais sério, Ronaldo jogava muito e poderia jogar essa copa do mundo só que ele era frágil assim como qualquer pessoa de 17 anos, se ele driblasse e fosse em direção ao gol um zagueiro ia dava uma carrinho que ele deixava lesionado pra sempre. Quase aconteceu isso com o neymar só queno caso dele o jogador subiu nas costas dele só que se isso acontessece com alguém mais novo com certeza nunca mais poderia jogar. Entao o técnico não arriscou.

They are a mix, as the majority of Brazilian players, though some have more inclination to a europe background, and others to african, and besides that we got some indigenous blood too. With more europe imigrant background we have Kaka and Zico, who many says its the best after Pele. Not mentioning Bebeto, who made a Duo with Romario in 94 world cup that we won. No sense commentary. Italians, portugueses, germans, were fundamental in the fundation of Brazil football history. Many big clubs here have European Backgrounds, as Cruzeiro (known in its beginnings as Palestra Italia (Not just a homage) and it is just the club where Ronaldo start his first professional games. So we are A LOT thankfull to the european component in our genes that blended wonderful with the african, at least we can say that in football.

Ronaldinho gaúcho estreou na seleção principal aos 19 em 1999. Na primeira partida dele, ele fez um golaço na goleada contra a Venezuela. Ronaldo estava em baixa na seleção na época. A maioria das pessoas ficou falando que o novo Ronaldinho era muito mais craque que o antigo, pois tinha mais recursos (melhor passe, cobrava bem faltas, dribles mais inventivos etc) e porque o Ronaldo estava em baixa e pioraria nos anos seguintes com as lesões nos joelhos.

honestly Ronaldo is like a comet, specially bright but not like the Sun. We can't compare him with the other legends cos both have different stories; furthermore we also can't say that he's better than them because somehow his achievements for football not really live up to his potential (i can say that for 2/3 time of his career, he wasn't even the best, just stayed under his former aureole )

Definitely i'm a fan of Ronaldo since he moved to Inter and i followed him then. i know him and i love him absolutely. But i really unhappy to accept that since 2003 he wasn't the best player in the world anymore. What he gave us during that time is just some brilliant moments (most of them already recorded in the videos on KZread) but it didn't bring to something; he also not appear in the big matchs or decisive moments for the teams. What he impressed the world that time was his name and his former legacy. So between times, some other players have surpass him with more achievements. We can incriminate for his injuries, lifestyle... but i think that anyone who love Ronaldo always want more and more in him not just a 5 years brightness. We have the right to request that from a phenomenon

@@vanhaivo3872 yes of course Ronaldo was not the same because of injuries and other issues(thyroid problemn weight gains)...but he still was as prolific and dangerous as any player at that time. He was ALWAYS the best player in whatever team he was in even AFTER destoying both knees. Also, Ronaldo didnt just have five years of shining like you stated. He literally shined since his first year until the end of his career. And whats the most scary about Ronaldo is that he in fact never reached his full potential. Achievements? Many, just look them up. For me hes just the greatest ever.

That was a 17 years old debut match but what I saw was Ronaldo at his prime. Never seen a teenager playing like that. Only the injuries stopped him. If he had no major injuries during his career he would be unanimous leaving Messi and CR7 behind as the best player of the century (and all time).

He won the Ballon D'or with 20 and 21.(messi First Time 22, Cr7 23) With 22 he didnt won it only because he was seriously ill in the wc98 finals and Zidane won the Titel. After that nearly 2 years injured. And then he wasnt the same R9 anymore. If you would give a Player the complete player Titel, it would be without doubt R9. Fast like Mbappe Ball Control like Messi Dribbling (nearly) like R10 Strength like CR7 Very good Passes, Shot technic, and Free Kicks. Il Fenomeno. The Phenomen.

Messi struggled with injuries during his teen years. Consequently winning world player at 22, as opposed to 21. A year in the difference is irrelevant. Messi’s vision is beyond the comprehension or ability of R9. There’s no disputing that. R9 is not on the same level of Messi.

ideafix Ronaldo certainly had raw talent beyond imagination but he was still very young then. Romario&Bebeto scored 8 goals out of 11 goals Brazil scored in that WC. They dominated la liga 93&94. Any sane coach would choose those two in front instead of talented yet inexperienced youngster.

ideafix good point. Love to see positive view of the game. IMO he wouldnt gamble putting R9 in the line up because this was WC. This 94 Brazil might not be the full-of-flair one but it’s very balanced like the ‘02. but Ro-Ro in 97, turnoi and Copa, that’s what I call full nuclear attack Brazil. so good I even hated them haha.

Se fosse 3 atacantes o meio campo ficaria desprotegido. Quem voltaria pra marcar? O esquema usado pelo Parreira só deu certo pq Bebeto e Romário estavam na ponta dos cascos...no auge do condicionamento físico e técnico. Dessa forma os meio campistas conseguiam segurar e abastecer o ataque de forma eficiente. Sem falar no comprometimento de todos em prol dos atacantes. Descem o pau no Parreira, mas se percebermos bem o esquema da seleção 94 não era diferente do que vimos e vemos na Europa.

Muito mais. Neymar subiu com 17 no santos em 2009 e era só marketing. Precisou de um Ganso em grande fase pra começar a engrenar em 2010. E já demonstrava ser um merda (checar o episódio com o Dorival Júnior). Ronaldinho em 1993 tinha 16 anos e tinha acabado de ser contratado pelo cruzeiro do são cristóvão. Já chegou mostrando tudo que podia fazer. Partia pra cima de qualquer um. Neymar já tá com quase 30 e ainda é só um jogador com potencial que nunca vai se concretizar. Já tá velho pra isso.

V Mas falou tudo meu amigo! Neybosta...é um super produto da mídia....até aí tudo bem...só fico puto da cara quando um cara como ele ganha um verdadeiro absurdo salário...mais marketing e tudo em cima de um jogador que não decide jogos decisivos, que não mostra personalidade e caráter de homem. Se joga no chão, faz faltas desnecessárias, provoca os adversários sem nenhum motivo e se acha o maioral. Ronaldo tinha aquela garra e partia pra cima dos zagueiros..só caia quando não tinha mais jeito,..e mesmo raramente cavava uma falta. Verdadeiro monstro..passava com uma facilidade...finalizava com ambas as pernas, driblava até o vento ....e era humilde...é até uma vergonha o pessoal hoje idolatrar o Neymar como se ele estivesse no mesmo nível de R9, R10, Romário, etc.

Just imagine it's not junior teams U17 nor U18 or U20 playing. They are national teams. Ronaldo scored, he set up so many opportunities for his teammates to score but they missed. He played as an experienced player involved in every single attack by other players like he has at least 5 years experience in the national team but he is just a kid of 17 years old. It's insane!

Inacreditável, imaginar que Ronaldo poderia ter formado um trio junto com Romário e Bebeto em 94, seria um dos ataques mais incríveis da história do futebol, mas infelizmente não jogou em nenhuma partida da copa de 94, por opção de Parreira, técnico do Tetra. Esse homem justifica o Brasil disputar outras duas finais de Copa do Mundo em 98 e 2002. Uma lenda.
