17-Year-Old Margrethe Hosts Queen Elizabeth II in Denmark (1957)

On 21 May 1957, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh began their state visit to Denmark, where they were hosted by King Fredrik IX, Queen Ingrid, and their daughter, 17-year-old Princess Margrethe. Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were first welcomed into the Palace of Arnalienborg, while the coming days included visits to a porcelain factory, Skovgard School, and the Hermitage Hunting Lodge, and Copenhagen's Royal Theatre.
Queen Margrethe II abdicates the Danish throne today, 14 January 2023, in favour of her son, Crown Prince Frederik. Her abdication comes on the 52nd anniversary of her ascent to the throne.

Queen Margrethe appears for a few seconds ( just for the record.) The British Royal couple is rather received by her parents.

There is a mistake in the description. It says Margarethe abdicated on 14th January 2023 and it should be 2024.

So the myth that it was forbidden to touch the late Queen Elizabeth II was false! In this video they touched on the late Queen Elizabeth II three times!

Who said it was forbidden to touch her, she spent her life shaking hands. It was protocol for her to reach out first. Also that rule didn’t apply to other royal families, especially the related ones, they often used to hug each other.

Well, the-then Crown Princess Margarethe and her parents were cousins of Elizabeth II via both Christian IX of Denmark and Queen Victoria! BTW, in private, they called each other their family nicknames of 'Lilibet' and 'Daisy' (since that's a translation of Margaret in French).

I think it has to do with historic gender division in clothing, but I'm guessing, and it's still arbitrary either way. There's nothing to stop someone in a skirt from bowing instead, as gentlemen in kilts indeed do. Perhaps it was invented because certain styles of upper clothing would show too much if a woman bowed? (That is even a wilder guess, sorry.)

We are not republicans or royalist, we want to see freedom in Denmark, freedom of speech Ch, freedom of thinking, freedom for common sense and fereedom to care for all people equally. 🇩🇰Free Denmark from ductatirship. It has gone too far and for too long time🇩🇰 free is from a Monarchy who have intervened several times in European politics and change its course to the worse. 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰NOT a fairy tale anywhere and the media and historians want you to know the beautiful facts of a very dark nightmare. “historians” make false claims and do not research the subject. Only one British historian has made a clear statement about the end of world monarchies by 2030. He is so competent and also censored.
