#17 - Torah Parashah Yitro

This parashah covers Exodus 18:1 - 20:23 and tells of Jethro’s organizational counsel to Moses and God’s revelation of the Ten Commandments to the Israelites at Mount Sinai.
In this study we focus on the importance of being grafted into Israel like Yitro and the mixed multitude that came out of Egypt with Isreal and then received the blessing of being apart of God’s betrothal at Sinai as well as the beauty of receiving the Ketubah revealing how to love God and our fellow man with a true selfless love!

Wow. Such great teaching on the seals and how they correspond to the feasts and agriculture cycle. It frustrates me at times how much of this information has been lost to the church or the enemy has deceived the church into not even taking the time to research and look deeper. Although I have to say I am grateful to be on this path now and of course God knew all of this would happen from the beginning. Thank you again for such wonderful teachings! - blessings from your extended church family in San Diego

Blessed be the Name of the LORD! He who sends people to teach His children! Thank you, Rabbi, for the wonderful insight that you give us into the Word of YHVH. I have been watching your videos on the Torah Portions weekly and I do not have words to describe the treasure unearthed - those precious nuggets of knowledge and insight which we missed out on for many, many years, partly due to our languages being insufficient to translate the deeper meaning and partly (in my case) for not being Jewish. I am grateful to have learnt that we who believe in Yeshua are from the lost house of Israel and like in the case of Yitro, we are grafted into the olive tree! We are eagerly awaiting our Beloved's appearing when He will take His bride to be with Him for ever!! What a glorious day that will be!! May the LORD bless you with understanding, insight and wisdom so that you will keep up the good work you are doing! Thank you!

isn't just what you do but what you don't do. Not just what you did but how you did it. Not just what you said but how you said it. Love is so simple yet the simple make it so hard. Love Is full of knowledge yet even the smart don't get it. Love doesn't cost a fortune yet fortunes are spent trying to gain it. Love does demand of you yet you are not willing to sacrifice for it. Those who only seek what love can give and do for them, do nothing for love and others and in such selfish pursuit, in turn rob themselves of love's best gift. Make this year the year you seek to sow love and not just reap it. Be love and not just think it. Do love and not just say it. Talk love and just don't fake it. Seek love and just don't chase it. Embrace it but don't enslave it, share it but don't dare boast in it. Enjoy it but don't abuse it. Free it and watch it come back. Invest in it and watch it pay back. Wash your life in it, light your darkness with it, eat your food with it conduct your business with it and above all else Serve God in it. For whatever love is and is not, it's all of, for and From Him. He is LOVE! " By Steven Gooden

Beautiful that you mentioned the "Common Law". Here's a few quotes about the Common Law (Origin the Torah) and how we have strayed, individually and collectively, as Israel in the "Wilderness" of America: United States supreme Court, Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973): “In this country, the law in effect in all but a few States until mid-19th century was the pre-existing English common law...It was not until after the War Between the States that legislation (civil law, Roman law, Roman civil law: man made statutes) began generally to replace the common law.” Lets see: 613 or so instructions in Torah vs. 8-10 million US civil laws at all levels of government? Ahhh, a no brainer? _____ Quotes from: “Missing Links Discovered In Assyrian Tablets” by E. Raymond Capt, M.A., A.I.A., F.S.A., Scot: Chapter 12, p.199: “Their [U.K. & USA] legal systems and constitutions are built upon the same Common Law, which had its origin in the Law of Moses - the Law of the LORD - hence the fame of American & British justice throughout the world. We should point out that these laws formed a part of our culture long before the Christian Era. These facts give us added proof, forming another ‘link’ in the chain of evidence connecting us with ancient Israel. The Common Law began in England as far back as 1100 BC when it was codified by Brutus (Brute) of Troy. Brutus was a great grandson of Aenaes, a descendant of Judah-Zarah [See Genesis 38: 27-30]. The Law was again codified by Malmutius - about 500 BC. King Alfred the Great again codified it. Alfred, the renown Saxon law-giver and Administrator during the Saxon period, places the Divine origin of the Law in the forefront. The following is taken from “Alfred the Great” which proclaims the law of Moses as the basis of Anglo-Saxon Administration: The King’s Laws “…coming, then to his task with this in view, we find Alfred’s code, or Alfred’s dooms as they are called, starting with an almost literal transcript of the Decalogue. The only variations of any moment are, that the second commandment is omitted from its right place, and stands as the tenth…immediately after the Ten Commandments come selections from the Mosaic Code, chiefly from the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd chapters of Exodus, very lightly modified” _____ “The civil law arose from the ashes of the old Roman Empire and added to its emperor worship the cloak of nominal Christianity. By the tenth century, the imperial Roman Church had become the chief carrier of the old Roman Empire’s civil law tradition; the visible trappings and ceremony of its religious-political doctrines, through deceit, lent an air of intimidation, respectability, and prestige. Thus, by the canon law, ancient Rome’s civil law persisted, not only in its continental presence but also by its tentacles -reaching, groping, grasping, throughout the world. By the seventh century, Roman law again reached into Britain. This time, however, not by Rome’s legions but by Rome’s priesthood. Thus began in earnest the struggle between the common law and the civil law, between Scriptures and Justinian’s Code. That struggle came to dominate, define, and determine the history of Britain, her colonies, North America, and the United States.” - Brent Winters, The Excellence of Common Law: Compared & Contrasted with Civil Law In Light of History, Nature & Scripture; p. 38 _____ “Before the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 justice was administered in England chiefly in people’s courts and the law enforced was in the strictest sense unwritten; that is, it was handed down by oral tradition. After the conquest the king gradually established a system of royal or king’s courts which eventually all but crowded out the Anglo-Saxon [people’s] courts. The theory of the king’s courts was hat the king was the fountainhead of justice and judges acted as his agents…Purely traditionary law, being administered by the people themselves, does not need to be justified to the people; but the [civil] law as administered by judges who are set over the people [gods many] must be thus justified. The [civil] judge must give his reason or basis for his decision…” Summary of American Law, George L. Clark, p.x Nature & Sources of Law. The Hebrew word rigmah is translated "council", but literally means a “heap of stones” (altar), or “gathering of stones”. It is from the Hebrew word Regem meaning "friend" & is the same three letters of ragam defined "stone". Gatherings of Stones or Living Stone Altars came together for many different reasons in service to the people: ministerial services: health, education & welfare; judicial services: “people’s courts” administering unwritten law while Israel was scattered, not knowing that their customs came from Horeb/Sinai and the Torah. _____ Ever since US, inc. was Reconstructed after the civil war (when the beast that rose up out of the land/wilderness), and Americans voluntarily choosing to abandon the Common Law (based on Torah) for the Babylonian/Roman civil law of men (all law is predicated upon contract and consent), here is what has happened: “The America once extolled as the voice of liberty heard around the world no longer is cast in the image which Jefferson and Madison designed, but more in the Russian image.” - United States supreme Court, Justice William O'Douglas, writing the dissenting opinion in Laird v. Tatum, 408 U.S. At 28,29 (1972). “If we search out the origins of Roman law, we must study Babylon…” -- Pollack & Maitland, The History of the English Law Before the time of Edward I. p.561 Its time for Israel to "come out of her [the whore] my people" and return to the Torah and clean herself up, wash herself and prepare to be the chaste bride, and she is running out of time to prepare.

I now appreciate the simbolism of marriage and the Ketubah:10 commandments and the whole prophetic meaning of it as "we" " the Bride". I have never heard of the 10 commandments as "Do no take" it does make so much sense and it is so simple, it is not explained in the prohibiting and punishable emphasis in which is mostly taught, easier to understand " for it is better to give than to receive".

Yes our Jewish midrash describes that and says the writing was as "inscribed from both their sides; on one side and on the other side they were inscribed." This means that the inscription was engraved through and through with the finger of YHVH and appeared as flame within the stone enlighting the individual letters and would have been able to be read from all six sides of the cube. Each tablet were half-a-cubit wide, a cubit tall, and a cubit deep so when placed together they measured 1 cubit cubed. The originals would have been awesome to behold!

It depends by which standard you live your life and want to be judged yourself. The scriptures say that love covers a multitude of sins... so we seek to be very understanding with the many variables in different peoples lives depending on whether they are a Jew or someone who is someone who is just learning Torah.... and if they were seeking to be a blessing in their "work" or whether they were laboriously seeking to selfishly profit from their work... so many things YHVH looks at. We encourage all to follow the Matthew 18 principle where if someone has wronged you or you feel there is a spiritual issue with a brother or sister to go to them privately first and seek to reconcile them in love. 🙏❤

Don't forget Caleb. Caleb was a foreigner "grafted in" too. Caleb's father, Jephunneh, was a Kenezzite from Kenaz, a son of Esau/Edom or possibly of Canaan. Caleb's name in Hebrew is "dog". Caleb was grafted into the tribe of Judah. Along with Joshua, son of Nun, a native born Ephraimite; Caleb and Joshua were apparently the only 2 Israelites who were part of the Passover in Egypt that came out into the wilderness, and who its presumed they were both righteous in their wilderness walk, because they were the only two who were allowed by YHWH, of the original multitude to "cross over" into the promised land. Wow! Another prophetic aspect of the "two sticks" prophesy for the end times. A grafted in Yahudi (Caleb). How many people throughout the ages have converted to Judaism and been grafted into Israel? And a native born Ephraimite of the Birthright Tribe who ends up divorced and scattered, needing a redeemer to be saved in order to be grafted back into the Bride, are who represents those that go through the tribulation ( the first and greater exodus) to be saved and redeemed and restored to the Covenants of YHWH in the promised land (Millennial Reign). Joshua obviously represented the prophetic second coming: Messiah Ben David, the Conqueroring King, but Joshua son of Nun was not of the tribe of Judah, but he represents the FIRST BORN Birthright in Yahshua the Messiah, while Caleb, the foreigner grafted into Judah represents the Scepter Blessing of Judah, plus all the grafted in ancestors of Yahushua the Messiah (Ruth & Rahab, etc.) So in both Joshua and Caleb who led Israel across the Jordan both share aspects of our KING, HUSBAND and REDEEMER. HalleluYAH!

Saturday has only been the 7th day of the week since Emperor Constantine changed it in 321 A.D. and is named after a pagan god. Biblically the Sabbath is calculated using the new moon? Constantine changed the day of worship for his kingdom from the 7th day to the 1st day of the week but he didn't change the unbroken cycle of is of every 7 days from creation. It is true that the days of the week becamed named after different celestial bodies as that was a part of pagan Rome's worship since the time of the Greeks. The counting of the monthly days from the new moon is separate from the weekly unbroken cycle and we have had and unbroken observance of it by Yah's faithful from the beginning. On one hand all have Yah's Spirit of life in them, and Yeshua prayed that we would all realize this Oneness in the Father saying in John 17, "Father may they be one in you even as I am one in you". But the RCC added the statements of Matt 28:19 and I John 5:7 about the "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" to promote the doctrine of the trinity which is from pagan origins and in contrast to the believe of the Jewish people which follow the belief of Avraham avinu in the one true God who is echad Oneness. (Deut. 6:4).

@@AssemblyofCalledOutBelievers Greetings rabbi. This is Rebecca Valentine from India. John 16: 13, 14 - Yeshua addresses the Holy Spirit as He/Himself specifically, almost 8 times just in these two verses. Why would He do that if the Holy Ghost is not a separate entity? 2 Timothy 3.16- All scripture is given by inspiration of God. If the Almighty and all powerful God falls short of preserving His own word and lets a satanic group ruin His word, how can we believe that His Bible is 100% accurate? And that He can protect US from our enemies? "The word of God endureth forever" "Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away" With all due respect, your teachings are extremely useful in edifying. I've always been in awe of your Biblical wisdom. Our sabbaths never go by, without us listening to your wonderful Torah teachings. But this is the only thing I cannot bring myself to believe. That He will let some petty humans manipulate His Word.

Abraham had to have ability to wright, he came from an advanced society, cuneiform, and was a highly educated man of summer. He is not a wondering nomad, Enoch wrote 365 books. Moses wrote books, the Tora had to be in some written form, tablets or parchment, he was brought up as a prince,he would have all the knowledge of the ancients Egyptians.

The first covenant, the old, was agreed to at Mountian Sinai when the national Israelites agreed with their Mighty One and said "All Yahavah hath spoken, we will do". Exodus 19: 8. They were/are today promised protection from physical enemies and prosperity for obedience. Moshe' was the mediator of the old covenant, which provided the Tora written on stone, and a physical level of understanding. Please now read ⛏ Hebrews 8: 13. The national Israelites, a physical entity, were not promised eternal life for obedience. The New Covenant is agreed to by called, MattithYa/Matthew 22: 14, I Corinthians 1: 26, individuals becoming baptized into the only name by which man must be saved, Acts 4: 12. Yeshua is the mediator of the New Covenant. He said to Kepha "...thou art Kepha (a little stone), and upon this Rock (Himself) I will begin My Assembly...", a Spiritual entity. Matthithya 16: 18. The New Covenant provides the same Tora written in our hearts, Romans 2: 15, providing a Spiritual level understanding, and a love for it, Psalms 119: 97. Yahavah said Yeshua will magnify the Tora, Isaiah 42: 21, and Yeshua did, and gave an example representing all, Mattithya 5: 27 - 28. Those baptized into the New Covenant are advised of severe persecution by enemies. John 15: 18. Only the New Covenant provides eternal life for obedience. The entire book of Galatians tells the differences between the two Covenants. Only we of the New Covenant have our eternal life on the line, Mattithya 7: 19. Hebrews 8: 8 refers to the physical people at the begining of Yeshua's first thousand years reign (of eternity) Luqas/Luke 1: 33, and to the Second Resurrection, YehezqEl/Ezekiel 37: 1 - and Revelation 20: 5A, a parenthetical statement (and the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished) - one of the Happiest times ever on earth, when all who ever lived and died will be raised again to physical life on an earth made beautifully ready, and will be taught the truth and offered the 🌾New Covenant🎉 Revelation 20: 11 - 12. HalleluYah!, we are the firstfruits, now living before the Great White Throne and being trained, I Kepha/Peter 4: 17. And they all will be the second fruits, also living before the same White Throne and taught the same Tora, written in their hearts! For His mercy never ends, Psalms 100: 5.

Brother, I trying to walk as Yahshua did, and this came to my attention as I heard your lecture. You have a passiin for the Word and so do I! I have learned from the various sources that a true heavenly Sabbath is not being observed correctly, do the observance if the moon. In the book of first prophecy given to man kind by Elohim and by Enoch, we read: Enoch 41:6-7 "And first the sun goes forth and traverses his path according to the commandment of YHWH of Spirits, and mighty is His name for ever and ever. And after that I saw the hidden and the visible path ofcthe moon, and she accomplishes the course of her path in that place [BY DAY AND BY NIGHT] - the one holding a position opposite to the OTHER (sun) before YHWH of Spirits. The order of observance is given. = Day starts at sunrise! Enoch 72:37 "As he rises so he sets and decreases not, and rests not, but runs BY DAY AND NIGHT, and his light sevenfold brighter than that of the moon;" Again the order of observance is given. Further in the Scripture we read: Jeremiah 33:20-21, 25 This is what YHWH says: "If you can brake my covenant with A DAY and my covenant with the Night, so that DAY AND NIGHT no longer come at their appointed time, (here we see again that YAH is saying this is the appointed order of reckoning the start of a day = at sunrise!) 20. then my covenant with David my servant - and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me - can be broken and David no longer have a descendant to reign in his throne. 25. This is what YHWH says: ' If I have not established my covenant with a DAY AND NIGHT and the FIXED LAWS OF THE HEAVEN and EARTH. (Again v 25 speaks of fixed covenant Law in Heaven for a Heavenly Sabbath) Our daily prayer that YAHSHUA taught us is this" Your will be done on earth as IT IS IN HEAVEN" - where Sabbath starts at SUNRISE!!! Elohim spoke through prophet Jeremiah that it was the lieing pen of the scribes that distorted the heavenly Sabbath!!! In the gospel of Matthew we read: m Matt 28:1 "After the Sabbath, at dawn (this means sun is rising) on the first day of the week, Mary Magdaline and the other Mary went to look at the tomb" Again it says right here that Sabbath ended at sunrise (dawn) on the first day of the week.... Here is an account of prophets Enoch, Jeremiah, and Matthew = Three witnesses of the Qodesh scripture, that true heavenly Sabbath starts at SUNRISE. And ends at dawn on the next day. And about shouvot, It is always on 15th day of the third month and not on 6th day, because of the observanves of the moon - which is sons of darkness were observing! Paul speaks that we do not belong to the night but to the DAY. Psalm 19:5 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In heavens he has pitched a tent (a hupa) for the SUN, Which is LIKE A BRIDEGROOM coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course! My duty is to inform brothers and sister and adjust (repent) from observing the moon but search the true heavenly Sabbath and 364 day Enoch calendar to make His will on earth as IT ALREADY IS IN HEAVEN! Amen.
