17 paintings. I barely made it out alive *chill art vlog
I admit I'm a little behind. This was the last full week of July and my last week of the plein air painting class I take for fun in the summer. I really did have a great time despite constantly being in class, touching up work, doing homework or driving to different locations. Some how it was still a beautiful break from the monotony of the studio and I'm feeling inspired.
It was an ending that faded out, and maybe that's a good thing, and will propel me forward to new work and paintings. For now though I am resting, catching up on tasks for future plans and the like.
In the past I probably would have wiped out after 8 weeks of painting and not known how to get back into things. But at this point I focus more on the process and things tend to move along better. Maybe quiet endings are okay. As they leave more space and energy for beginnings.
Not sure if that made sense, but I hope everyone is doing well and staying inspired. Enjoy this art vlog!

Such a lovely collection of work Maria! I still love that roof top car park one the best, just something appealing about it that I can't really name. You can feel a bit flat after completing something before inspiration strikes again or a new routine kicks in. Really enjoyed plein air painting with you, thanks so much for taking me along, I learned alot too 🙏🥰👍

I love that one too! 🌼 I took a good week off of painting after finishing, that definitely helped. So glad you enjoyed our summer of plein air! It was fun sharing that experience for sure!

Great collection you made seeing them all together . The last one with the reflection is really awesome and loved you said you went into your painting , imagine .... Being all the time in the studio can be lonesome sometimes so it is nice to hear you love outdoor painting . Wish you a good start for new beginnings and enjoy the end of summer .

I love all the compositions in your paintings - you really have an eye for these city scenes or "casual" moods! Also, the sheer amount of paintings getting done here is inspiring!

Those are some lovely paintings you did! I hear you about the heat; it's been quite hot here as well at times. I have a daily routine of drawing in my sketchbook and we have no air conditioning here so I was fighting not to sweat on my book ( the humidity is quite high here) while still trying to do a good job drawing. It was...interesting.

So, just out of sheer jealousy, do you have a ceiling window? your workspace is so BRIGHT it is absolutely beautiful- and if that is how it is achieved I'm not going to shut up about ceiling windows like... ever.

Happy to hear that, thank you!! I'm hoping to get some good use out of the box, but who knows. I'm sure we all have a habit of collecting art supplies without a full proof plan to use it 😅
Also is there any way to know what easel you use? It looks so great for plein air studies!

It's called a French easle with a full box, this one is from Jullian. It's a great option for outdoor work 😊

It's a hand-built one from etsy but guerrilla painter offers almost the exact same one.
