Alternatively the top of the fabric can be cut off so that it's not over the bulb and the fabric can just wrap cover the lamp shade enough as long as it isnt too close to the bulb.

The most common lightbulbs used are LCD and have next to zero heat emissions. We aren't in 1985 anymore, brother
