16GB isn't all that bad, it's the fact that only 11GB is user accessible. If an individual uses 4K or takes live photos, the 16GB is a no-go. 32GB should honestly be the industry standard by now.

iPhone 6s 64gb. Agreed my last iPhone was 16gb. Always running out of storage - even had to delete stuff to update iOS - so agree with you, 64 gb is so much better.

+Sophie Royer well then your a very light user. because in 2015 its not surprising for an app to need more than 1gb storage. also even for the smaller size apps like whatsapp, instagram each time its updated the size of it increases ever s slightly which is why apps these days require much more space than they did back in 2011 hence why 8gb iphones were discontinued(16gb should also be discontinued). and moving onto camera. the camera on the iphone 4s and 6s are very different andsince the new one is obviously better images require more space than before. and do bear in mind you need to have some space free for whenever an IOS update comes along. and then every year with a new major ios update(from ios 7 to ios 8 and to ios9) usually requires around 1gb to 4gb storage and it can be a mission on a 16gb iphone trying to free up space for the update.

I keep my fb app on my ipad, dont play any games, transfer my photos to my computer and then delete them from my phone every 3-4 months no matter how much space I have, delete conversations regularly and I pretty much never shoot video. Also the new live photo is completely irrelevant for me because again I like to freshen up my photo stream every few months so that wont be taking up space either. 16gb is more than enough for me, I had my 8gb 4s up till recently, it was never full.

+taz874 I can see how 16GB is not enough for heavy users. My Android has 32GB, and I ended up having alot of apps that I never used (and photo's not worth keeping (4300+), because you get lazy keeping your phone clean and only keep the apps you use because there is plenty of storage. I think 16GB is not enough for a 6S if you like 4k video. But 16GB is enough for my 6 plus (non S) for sure.

Well I brought the 6s 16gb and it works perfectly for me am not a heavy user and I only use it for call and music and photos. So it's not as bad for me. Plus I have an iPod 128gb so yeah music it's not a problem for me 😂

It's not about the base model prices, it's about ripping people with the higher priced models. Let's take a look at the MacBook PRO (PROFESSIONAL!), it comes with 128 GB of space. Which professional will take the 128 GB version? Same with the iPhones and iPads.

+CORNHOLIO NEEDTP an 8gb iphone used to be enough for us in 2007 and here we are where 8gb is no longer offered. times change and with modern technology apps keep on increasing in size. many games can often take up atleast 1gb in storage and photos take up more space than before. so unless you use the cloud more often then yh its enough but not everyone relies on the cloud.

well 12mb photos and 4k videos eat your space fast. then social media will take some space. Spotify could take up like over 5gb so thats already half of your space gone since 6gb is used up for iOS. When you add all these together, 10.6gb of space is too small. and everyone has at least a few games on their phone to eat away time, LIKE COLOR SWITCH 😄😄😄😄😁😁😆😆

I rocked a 16GB iPhone from the 3GS to the 6, but with my 6S Plus I went for 128GB! Finally a peace of mind :D

I had a 16GB iPhone 5, and I knew it would be too much, but I stuck with it to save money. Ultimately, I ended up always shuffling around my storage, having about 1-2GB of free space after emptying everything out. I like having my entire music library stored on my phone, and I like having all the capacity I need to store photos and videos I take when I go on trips… and now with the 4K video option, I ended up upgrading to the 128GB iPhone 6S Plus. Yeah… recently after a Christmas event that I went to, I took a series of videos that ended up taking 16GB of storage. Maybe I could've survived with a 64GB model, but I didn't want to get to a point where I was running low, since my iPad Air 2 is also 64GB, so I went with the 128GB model.

I usually wrap them in spider web and leave them like that until the police finds them a few days/months or years later. The base model should be 32GB for the same price as 16GB having said that my last 2 iPhones were 16GB and my current one the iPhone 6 is also 16GB if your not loading tons of apps and storing so much videos and photos it's fine I actually use google photos to add all my photos and videos to that and delete them off my phone to save so much space

James Sheridan yh but i have a feeling this is the last year we will see a 16gb iphone considering samsung,sony,htc have all abandoned 16gb flagship phones this year and have made 32gb the standard so i mean apple will probably have the next iphone come in a 32gb size as the standard. so far out of all the 2015 flagship phones the iphone is the only one with 16gb storage as the base model.

+James Sheridan I think they took away 32GB and kept 16GB because it'll make them more money. People see the cheapest phone is 16GB, so they dish out another $100 to get the 64GB. If 32GB was the base, a lot more people would actually buy that and not skip to the 64GB.

I got the 16GB iPhone and I'm honestly fine with it. I think you should get the 64GB IF you take lots of photos and videos and download LOTS of apps and you don't ever wanna clean your phone up. But honestly I just transfer the pics from my phone to my laptop so I'm not afraid to run out of storage. I think choosing between 16 and 64 depends on what you wanna do with your phone.

Owen - Chanel I have 274 pictures, 6.5gb of apps plus games. and i only use pandora because pandora is the only thing i like for listening to music. and i still have 4.3 gb's left to take more pictures. and record more video at 1080p 60fps. if need be, i can upload all my pictures to google photo and not even worry about messing with airdrop or any of that stuff.as a matter of fact i recorded a full wedding in full HD on my iphone just the other weekend.

+monay k It's usuable, but it depends on how you use it. I don't have over 100 photos, no songs, 2-3 game apps, and only one social media app. I mainly use it for call, text, and a video player. I have to regulate storage often but it doesn't bother me too much since I like to be organized and keep it clean. My iPad on the other hand, is 64GB. I probably stored my whole photo library around 2000 photos and above, 4-5 pages of apps of mixed categories. With 64GB, I have absolutely no worry or hesitation with downloading everything. I still have about 14GB after my downloads. Get 16gb if you really don't use your phone much other than text and call. 64gb if you spend a good amount of time on your phone and if you want more than just a phone. Sorta regret not getting 64gb, but doesn't bother me that much. owo'

My 16GB is great. I also take the time to monitor all my music, and back up all of my pictures once a month, or when I think it's past due. I don't play many games, and keep my google apps on my ipad. Getting by on less than 16GB just means you have to watch what you do and keep those gigs in mind. Not too bad.

i have an iPhone 6s plus 16gb space gray, i have apple music so i don't have to save music on my phone, i have my photos imported into my computer everyday/week which deletes them after import, I'm not really a heavy phone user i just some simple games and social media apps, so have plenty of space to take video(in 4k) and pictures, however i am a pretty light user and not everyone is the same on how they use their phones, but i wanted to shed some light, and say that light users like me can use 16gb on an iPhone 6s just fine with little to no worry.

This whole video is just first world problems.

(2 years later)it depends on what type of person are you....even me living in third world... I am limited with one big game(im not much of a gamer but i keep one to kill time),i use camera moderately, have a few productivity apps and finally the real space killer is actually just Whatsapp, if you have atleast one active group(etc work) it can get up to 4gb to 5gb in not a very long period...

I figured all of that would be the case. I am overflowing with my 4S on 16GB with just part of my music collection.

had a 16gb iPhone 5. storage became an issue after a year or so because of apps, videos, pictures, etc (had to constantly load off pics and video recordings). kinda went overboard this time with the 128gb iPhone 6s Plus. never had to worry a single time about storage (obviously). and just checking now, still have about 60gb of storage left... the nice thing though is that i don't need to ever transfer files off the phone now. i can keep all pics and 4K videos on board without a worry. this is especially nice since the phone is good enough to handle video editing straight on the device now.

It's usable. Yes, but you need to do some serious memory management. Store all photos on cloud and use spotify or apple music. And most important thing to do is stop installing games that you won't be playing. I have a 16Gb 6s and still have like 6.1 Gb after installing all of my most used apps and 3 games to play when I'm bored.

I tried to believe that I needed the 64GB iPhone and had the 6 and 6s in Space Gray in that storage size. Then I realized that I barely used 6-7GB of storage after installing all my apps and downloading my music. I'm now on an iPhone 6s+ in RG and have 6.3GB left. Maybe some day I'll need 64GB but I don't game on iPhone and I own a 12" Mac for productivity.

The previous sentence also seemed like you only have that much storage left in the end lol! But seems like you are a seriously light user. I dunno how you manage that kind of light use, but I suppose Apple has given you no choice for a 32gb intermediate which would've been a cost effective safe measure. Darn them! If there was a 32 gb iphone instead of 16gb you would see a huge dip in 64gb sales and overall profits.

I think this would work for someone like my wife. She doesn't install anything but a dictionary lol. And she takes plenty of pictures, but not much video, and the video she would shoot would be 1080 @ 30fps. She uses the tablet for everything else. Does anyone else use their iPhone bare like that? And if they do, how much space is left; would it last two years? The good thing is after so much time you can offload your pics and videos to iCloud. It's $.99 a month for 50GB. So for $12 a year you can have 50GB of cloud storage.

True, I understand how it does, but at the same time, if I listen to all my music on apple music then I would need Wi-Fi at pretty much all times. I share 15gb with my other 5 family members, so there is not enough data to go around to stream my music whenever I want to. I know that apple music allows you to keep certain tracks or albums on your device, but I feel that I always need all my music on me because I'll never know what artist I might want to listen to at that time (Plus I'm always on the go). But it should bother you because you bought the most expensive phone on the market that sells it brand by claiming luxury, simplicity, easy use and no compromise. So 16GB is unacceptable to be sold under such a bold claim on a product.

there are so many cloud possibilities now that you can just store all in the clouds...except the apps themselves but music , pictures, videos etc...I never store them in my phone anyway

I own an iPhone 6S 64gb for about a month now. Have lots of apps, around 1100+ photos, 200+ videos, 500 songs on device. Still got 31.6gb storage left. No regrets for getting the 64gb model! 👍🏻

I find it funny that people complain so much about 16gb phones, I lived with an 8gb iPhone 5c for 2 years, it was pretty painful tbh, now I bought a moto g4 16gb with a 16gb sd card for all my photos, videos and music, and because of my memory management due to previous experiences, I haven't even used half of the 10.4 gb I get on the internal storage and I already have all the apps I need installed... I may download some emulator roms and a few more apps later on but I think 16gb will definitely be enough

I know right? People are always whining about phones having 16gb and I'm just here asking: Why do you care if Apple has a 16gb option? If they remove that option that means people will have to pay around $30-40 just to get the 32 gb option. I currently have an 8gb iPhone 5c and I have a decent amount of games and i just transfer all my pictures so i have lots of space opened up.

AGamer Garcia Apple bumped up memory into 32Gb without price rising. It could have cut down price sticking to 16gb though

+준영 Pity they did that after I bought 16GB. It's enough, but it's always nice to have that extra storage for use and when it's time to sell to upgrade.

IN short if you take 1000 selfies and download 100 + of video games then the 16gb model isn't for you. If you use your phone just to download productive apps and a game here and there then the 16gb is for you. I have like 300 songs and couple of apps installed plus some photos and i still have like 8 gb left.

Being able to use your phone at 16GB isn't the problem, the problem comes when you are a company that brands itself with luxury, usability and no compromises as the most expensive phone on the market. So when they offer a 16 GB model in 2016, that's unacceptable....and it stopped being acceptable with the iPhone 4s

I would be totaly fine with a 16 GB base model if it was a 250$ Android or something. But THE flagship phone, one of the most expensive phones, I expect a 32 GB base model.

Marcel Diezasch Exactly! I respect those that can make 16GB work on this phone, but something at this price point should come with at least double the memory it does considering apps, video, photos, and music demands for MOST people.

So glad I got more storage. Got a 64GB Plus in rose gold and it's great!

I have a 16 gig and it seems fine. I have little apps though and don't use Live Photos or record as much so I guess that saves it

Get a 128GB and guess what you never even have to check how much storage you have left...

which should i get? iphone 6 64 or SE 16? i used insta,line, whatsapp, snapchat, gmaps, gphotos, spotify for music( i dont really like to download music), uber, and maybe e-commerce app to shop online, i have an old phone that a lot of pics that i wouldnt move that to my new iphone. will the SE 16 gb is enough?

I use a 16g s plus. I dnt play games very much and only use pandora for music. I have no issues with videos or photos ever. But i can deff see how gamers and music people would never be able to use 16 g great video man

That's why I prefer android, got to love that expandable storage!!!

32gb on my phone, I found for frequent photos, recording, games and productivity I used shy of 22gb over my 1 year with it. (LG Tribute).

is there any preloaded apps, like fb twitter etc... can we get rid of that, if we are not using it

I have the 16gb 6s+ and have quite a good experience with it. I have Much less apps than you though

I mean if u only use facebook instagram and u snap a few photos that's okay, but for me it would be unusable, I like storing music and games and record videos and my friends send me a bunch of videos on messaging groups, I mean would be a hard life, teach me how you do it girl good luck!

+Xehanortheartless I had the 16gb (now I have 128gb thank god) and when I'd take a long video I'd end up going in and deleting facebook, skype, snapchat... maybe some albums, until I'd get home and copy the data and restore my apps... it was frustrating as hell!

i use nowhere as many apps as you. i only have 9 apps on my iphone 4s. would i be able to use only 16 gb of storage with 9 apps, exactly 50 photos, 6 time lapses (each around 2 seconds long) and 21:69 seconds of video?

I cannot go below 64GB in my iPhone. I never use anywhere near that, but Apple (for some reason) thought getting rid of the 32GB was a good idea.

+hung do it's business, but extremely transparent that this is a money grab on their-already pricey-phones. It's enough to turn a long-time iphone user, like me, to a cheaper line of phones. Got a Nexus 6p for $749, which is way cheaper, (about 65%) than the 6s plus, 64 gig, at $1149, so I have the option to upgrade more often.

It is definitely doable, but not ideal. I had the 16gb 6 and just had to force everything into the cloud, and I was constantly monitoring my space because I like testing a ton of apps. Then I upgraded to a 64gb 6s plus and using it is just so much easier.

I bought the 16GB iPhone 6s (I know, I dun goofed, but because of money reason I had to and...), I don't download that many apps and keep so many files on my phone. I was surprised when you said you had 200 apps on your phone, because I always keep very few apps. For example, social apps like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp + a few games and a few little things, which just take up MBs. In general I just have like 11 apps and then leave like 250 songs (I delete and download new music all the time) and about 500 pics (again, keeping it clean. Keeping things that I really need to save). I don't even keep that little amount of everything because I have a small amount of storage, but just cause I want to and I'm used to it. I still have 4GB free atm. For me that's great.

I use the IPhone 6S plus 64GB model. Before this i had the IPhone 4. I got that phone on the day of launch.

I started off with the 16gb on iPhone 6 Plus and could not access my mail. So when I upgraded to the 6S Plus I definitely went for more storage so much so that I decided to go for the max 128 gb. Because I also have the Note 4 32gb and installed the 64 sd card to go with it. As an avid music lover and I use my Note to do work (spreadsheets, etc.) on the go. That currently my phone has 12.5 gb out of the 32 left and the sd card has 53.7gb left out of the 64.

My old phone was 1.76 gigs with a 4 gig SD card and I had it for a year. I have a 32g galaxy s6 active now though

I just got like an hour ago a iPhone 6s from a 5c I switched because of storage issues I had 8gb now I have 64gb it is so different and space is definitely something I treasure

i have been using a IPhone 5s 16gb for quite a while and i had no issues at all list of things i do on it -whatsapp -facebook -instagram -some heavy gaming -jailbroken -jailbreak tweaks

i have the 16gb 6 plus and have 804 photos/videos. and a full page of apps. its not so bad but has some adapting to get used to

128. Wanted to have my complete music library onboard to minimize data consumption. As well as carry all my favorite photos dating back to my original iPhone. I currently have 75.4Gb available.
