A gardener does their own yard work; oligarchs do not. As long as your truck is safe to drive it has a bonus of not having to be worried about. As I wrote before some of the best mechanics I worked with had a vehicle like Leland’s for their basic needs. Booker T Jones, Steve Cropper, Donald Dunn, and Al Jackson Jr. were the keystone of what were the Mar-Keys, the house band for Stax Records. Recorded music sailed with their talents. Grateful every time.

Even If you have uninsured motorist coverage, yes they will probably offer you $500. Never take the first offer! Go sit in the agent’s office. Ask them to show you where you can get that truck for $500? Get them to make a more realistic settlement with you. Be willing to walk away, And then come back in an hour! If you can bring a crying baby with you, or a puppy, sometimes that can help the settlement go faster. If they make an offer you like- get it in writing, or go sit in the boss’ office until you get a check. See ya soon in Ft Worth Tx!!

@@artemisXsidecross Much of my musical appreciation has been backwards in time via the blues, the real r&b, and jazz. It's been rewarding. I tried to pass some of that trip to my sons. My boys were I think 8 and 10 when I took them to their first concert. It was Ray Charles with his large band. It did make a lasting impression. But, I wonder if either will be interested in my album/CD collection and audio equipment.

I gotta figure out how to get your performance on a loop-love it! That Memphis sound was special. Also feel your pain with the truck. I’m driving a much-loved old car showing some scars for same reasons. Insurance just totals (for nothing…grrrr) and lawsuits…? you (or I) can’t get blood from a turnip. That driver should have been charged. But mostly just want to say thank you. Your generosity in sharing your talent, and all the looks at those great venues, is just amazing. Not enough or adequate words for the appreciation you’re due. You’re a gift, in so many ways.

Great song! Great groove! As you are a long time 4 string player I totally get your playing more often doesn't use the B string, but in this song you have incorporated it well. I have been mostly a 5 string player for the past 25 years and use the B string a lot, so I really appreciate seeing this groove. I been watching your playing for a number of years since you started this channel and have learned a lot about technique, tone, and melodic opportunities with songs. Thank you so much for this learning experience. Even though I play almost exclusively Christian Praise music, seeing your work on all genres helps tremendously. Prayers for your wife's continuing healing.

About 8 years ago, I had a nighttime deer collision in my 2003 Mercury Gran Marquis. Took out the hood, right fender and headlight assembly, grill and grill surround. Due to the age of the car, I didn't have collision or comprehensive on my car insurance. I was able to get it all replaced including matching paint(well, nearly matching) for $2,300. Still drive it, it's coming up on 138000 miles. Of course, it's years ago and in Wisconsin, not California. I'm saying talk to your mechanic to see if he can recommend a low cost body shop.

I sympathize with you. I just hit a deer about 2 months ago and I didn't have comprehensive either. I love my Toyota Prius and it cost me $3200 to have it repaired.

@MikeBruno-qt5es Actuall, in my life I've had 6 deer strikes. That makes me an ace. Or, an ass , not sure. The first one was in 1971 at night. I'm driving a 1960 VW bug, a buck jumps out from the right and I hit him with the left front fender. The buck is upended and slides to the ditch across the road. He gets up and runs away. I get out of the car and pick up the fender, which is lying in the road. I put it in the backseat and continue my trip. That's my best deer strike story. Sorry about your Prius, I hope you weren't hurt.

Hi Leland!! I’m with you on the yard work…..know I shouldn’t do it….but,gotta get out and just get er’ done….at feel like temp here 112o…..phew!! Hate to hear about the truck…..yes I figured the insurance company would do that….hold out…for as long as you can…keep bugging them……..for the years you pay insurance….without any claims….just so crappy….Hate that! Whatever they offer….dispute it….might be able to get more…..been there….even tho…it’s not good…I was able to atleast get a bit more……Bastids…..sure you’ll be able to get the bed done…..a lot less than a new one……I’m pissed off for yew!!! Hey Lee! I know all about how it feels to be violated! The neighbor that lives in the house above me decided to cut down 3 fully grown trees that gave us privacy so he couldn't look down into our yard. The police would just say it's a property dispute so figure it out and going to court would cost a fortune and last longer than I'm willing to deal with. It's so wrong! I know how you feel!!! The Duck Dunn bass in the Stax museum is a Fender. Not sure what model, but Lee might know. In the same room is Cropper's guitar, Booker's Hammond , and Allan Jackson's drum kit. The whole display stands alone, and it's affecting.
