16-year-old charged with assault after allegedly shoving woman down church stairs
Police have arrested a teenage boy who is accused of pushing a woman down the stairs outside a Queens church before stealing her purse and her car. The victim is still in the ICU.

WBLM-TV caught up with his foster mother and she had this to say: _"Dat ain't mah boy. Mah boy wouldn't do dat. He's a good kid. Very respectful, got a heart fulla love, and a smahl dat can laht up a roon. I just want y'all to know, mah boy ain't a monster. And his side of the story ain't bein' tole."_ The boy's father could not be located for comment.

This was not a hate crime. We need to address the root causes of crime... i.e. poverty, systemic racism and an unequal distribution of resources. This child obviously needs support ... punishment will only make him worse.
