Dachshunds are so unique in their personality and their eyes are so expressive, in a dachshund they truly are the windows to the soul. My Gitsy, a red short hair miniature dachshund just turned 10 Jan 1st, I've had her since she was 5 months old. After I lost my mixed breed Max (he looked like a cross between a golden retriever and a corgi, my pooh bear I called him)I had a hard time coping with the loss. My brother called me and said he had a 5 month old mini doxie from a litter they kept but because he knew I was grieving told me if I wanted her she was mine. I wasnt ready for another fur baby but something kept pushing me to at least go meet so I finally did. As soon as I sat down on my brothers sofa in came running this little red dog, jumping on me giving me kisses which they said she never acts that way at first with strangers, so my little girl chose me and she immediately made her way in my heart and took up residence. I call her my little meant to be and i can't imagine what life would be without her being in it, I'm blessed for ever how long I have with her and thankful she loves me so much .
