The thing is, I think Asian countries are more obsessed with investing money on skin care products than make ups. EDIT: I didn't know this comment reached 9k likes so uhm just to clear the air, I'm Filipino-Korean-Mexican.... and I do spend a decent amount of money on skincare 😂 but I also do make up... but I don't like the feel of heavy makeup on my skin.. I prefer just an ampoule amount of bb cream, some eyeliner, blush, and eyeshadow. Anyway, take care guys! Stay safe!

In asian countries their makeup is more about enhancing your natural beauty and making it look like you’re not wearing makeup so instead of heavy foundation, contour, etc they focus more on that natural beauty so skincare is definitely a big part of it

I’m Asian and not we are not obsessed with skin care. It’s just that when you have good skin, it’s easier to find basic make up that works for you without hiding your natural beauty. While I admire creating different looks with make up, It’s simply not practical and too time and energy consuming to have to live up to a certain look. Hence good skin care definitely outweighs thick make up.

i would say we def invest in products that make us look younger and overall our skin healthier, our skincare is much more complex and we have minimal makeup(most of the time)

i see no difference of her “before” and “after” make up look. 1 sec later: that is exactly what she is aiming for.

Taeyeon and sunny dyes their own hair. Hyoyeon and Tiffany does their own makeup sometimes. Hyoyeon even made a book called Hyostyle, which is about her fave makeup looks and outfits that she does/chooses herself. Seohyun and Yoona are not really concerned about makeup that much, they even attend their university classes barefaced/ or with light makeup.

This is what I like about korean makeup look, they do it naturally. "No makeup" makeup look is looking so fresh but still looks natural.

Actually its just an assumption that Koreans so a ton of steps, Charlotte Cho actually invented the concept of the 10 step routine but in actual Korea its actually popular to find multi-purpose products and only you products you need. the 10 step never caught on in Korea, its only popular because of Charlotte Cho and it going viral on social media in the US and western contries

hey not really an assumption.. I know alot of Korean friends that do this, but not as much as 10 steps (maybe 5 or 6) and this is usually done at night. And they use different stuff during morning & night but still there is a step by step process.

I'm 16 and been doing the Korean skincare since I was 15 bruh. It doesn't have to be complete 10 steps. Just do what works for you. I do 4-6 steps cause it works for me. I've learned the importance of skincare coz of k-beauty and now I enjoy my skincare time!

I love how Korean always take good care of their skin so even with minimal makeup they look so good and flawless.

남제니 what makes people "pretty" is subjective, so you can't really determine that. someone might think her slimmer jaw line is what made her prettier and it's not wrong if that's what made her more attractive to them. I love Jessica so I'm not saying surgery made her pretty, but I'm just acknowledging that you can't tell someone else how they view people.

I corrected my mistake of saying former kpop star and put instead a former SNSD member because as a former member of any kpop group, you get the advantage of looking good because you've been taken care of by makeup artists. Don't be discouraged! You can try it, even if you have acne! Notice how she uses a Korean skincare regimen...they're known to help clear up your skin. It's good to talk to a dermatologist too.

First of all, Sica SLAYED. Second of all, I see a lot of comments about her voice and how she was 'fake' before etc. While I do suspect SM forced her to put on a sweet persona (she was trained to become a kpop idol after all) - let's not forget it's been 9 years since she debuted. People change quite a lot in 9 years (and mature). Jessica is a CEO of her own company now, not to mention a grown woman. I feel like she's a lot more confident and stronger - and i love it

Same. I liked party, lion heart and you think... but something is just missing. They feel like your standard kpop songs now. I use to buy each album on iTunes and a physical copy, now I can't bring myself to buy either. I respect anyone else who can keep stanning, but each girl is necessary. Ot9 or nothing at all for me.
