Great test ideas but slightly weighted in favour of the barbarian as it’s a stronger magnet but it is still well impressive & it will sure give you a work out throwing and getting it back in

Good demo, Mark; definitely got my interest peaked about the Magnatar line, just not sure whether it's more towards the Terror, their Beast or even the Barbarian. Thinking the this Barbarian may just be overkill for my uses but the other two are for sure being researched. Thanks!

Well this test is I dont know, pointless, or not fair? Barbarian is 1600kg pull the Beast is 1000kg. You should do a Barbarian vs Evolution which is 360 is well and 1600kg pull is well... But love the video :)

I own magnetar and the beast and they are both very good magnets but cmn guys, you made this test unfair. I am pretty disappointed in you to be honest not because of your magnet but because of this test... The test does not show the whole picture. Magnetar will pick up coins better, there is no question but beast will stick to larger objects better. This is not only tested by my multiple times it's just a simple physics really. Magnetar is round on sides, while the beast is flat. Therfore the surface area of magnetar it comes in contact with objects while stickig to the side is very, very small compared to the beast. And larger surface area = better sticking properties. On top of that the beast have 2 usable flat surfaces while magnetar has one. Magnetar does indeed pick up cons better but the beast will stick to larger object better while draggin both. While i do not argue with that fact that magnetar is better in case of coins, you present it as better magnet over all, which is not. They are two different magnets, for very different things. If you are after larger objects magnetar is not better.

@@bostonmagneteers8239 Don't get me wrong i do not object to the test itself, i think it's good that you took your time to show it to us. I only object because this test is not very objective. I agree 100% that on a bench test, with coins or even in water, real life barbarian will outperform the beast because it's simply much stronger. However, in reality when we drag magnets and look for larger objects the beast will do better. And like i said, the reason is very simple. Much greater surface area on the sides due to it's very shape. I think the better comparison would be to also show what it can actually lift ( stick to ) while on the side ( either side ), because here is where it shines. Barbarian when on the side, only sticks to object on a very limited surface area therefor it's strengt is limited and even though it's much stronger magnet, it will not do nearly as good. So imo what you should do to be fully objective is. Do the coin test as you just did because here is where magnetar shines and there are certainly scenarios people will want to use it like that. Therfore coin test is welcome of course. But on top of that, show the, what should i call it, sticking power while dragging because this is where the beast shines. Not because it's stonger, it isn't. Becuase of it's shape. Shape is also important and very important. That's why i own both because they are not really one or another. For certain scenarios barbarian will do far better, but for other scenarios the beast will. I would say neither is overall better, imo they are very comparable it all depends what we use them for. For example if i was going for coin hunting, i would have taken the barbarian. But any larger object, i would say above 10kg in weight i would go for the beast. Because again, it's not just the strength, it's just different shape that works better with heavy objects.

@@bostonmagneteers8239 just had a look again at what i wrote and to be honest i don't fully understand it myself :). I am sorry i am not English. I think i have an idea to explain exactly what i mean. Imagine a scenario. Large metal bar. When you place barbarian on it ( while on the side, the reason why side is because it's how we drag magnets ), even though it's rated at 1600kg you will be able to remove with low to moderate difficulty. However if you stick the beast ( while on either side ) to the same bar, even though it's rated "only" 500kg. You would have an extremaly hard time removing it, nearly impossible by hand. I think this should explain exactly what i had in mind. Hence coin test does not show the whole picture, not even close imo because in real life with larger objects... :)

Nice ro see how they pull but its like comparing apples with oranges. since its completly different magnets. The 360 is amore top dipping and the beast is more like draging one. But nice to see how they perform.

What would be your choice between the 360 magnet or a 2600lb double sided magnet... if you had to choose 1. The 360 grabs everywhere with about 500lb pull but the 2600lb double sided has 1300lb pull on 2 sides

I would chose a 360 over anything. I have both and always us my 360

360 magnet will attract more it's simply because they have all round pull, put the beast on a flat piece of steel guarantee it pulls more

Hello, I'm considering purchasing a magnet, but when I look at the top magnets on KZread, I can't find the one that is 360c / 1600kg. Do you think it is the best option at the moment? Please advise me. My other question is about a small magnet (up to 70kg) I own, which fails to attract coins, except for the cheapest yellow ones. I also have a silver coin, which I know contains some alloys, but it doesn't get picked up at all. Is it possible that with a much more powerful magnet, I could also pick up more valuable coins? Thank you! And OM" got 1700 and 1800 kg magnets, but is it worthy ? And is there any difference between OM -1600 and Magnetar- 1600 except the more gifts from magnetar. Thanks

The Magnetar Barbarian is 1600kg, Beast is 1400kg, Terror is 1000kg and Hardcore is a 600kg I think. These are all the magnets I use. Make sure u buy a protector to help from chipping. I'm pretty sure import duty is due in the UK if u buy a Magnetar, but they said to send them a copy of invoice and they will refund. My last 2 magnets came through with no import. If you want durability get the beast of you want all round pull get the barbarian but be prepared for it to chip

Honest opinion do you not find that you spend mord time cleaning the barbarian then you do the beast

To be honest I have never took much notice. I just pull the stuff off. I have never had it like when I did the coins in the review.
