    Just an observation. I find in the internet "Fan-in" is the number of inputs a logic gate can handle to give the correct output, not fan-out.

    As per google fan out-the number of inputs that can be connected to a specified output.

    Delay will be 9 for carry and 10 for sum Not 12 and 13 Starting generating and propagation will take 1 delay time for every block, 1+2+2+2+2 =9 carry 1+2+2+2+2+1= sum

    I recall another CLL unit which outputs C4,C8,C12,C16 CLL's which form the 4-bit adder do not output these carries if so they would not be as fast as supposed to be

    In 32 bit cla adder I think there should be 32+1 terms
