16 Bean Soup - vegan plant based beans - instant pot - instapot recipe

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This delicious and super hearty 16 Bean Soup was one of my favorite plant based vegan beans recipe that I have ever made. It was so incredibly hardy and had so many diverse textures and flavors in every spoon full. If you have an instant pot or an instapot or any pressure cooker, I recommend putting them in first and precooking the beans if starting from dry beans. It is a great way to tenderize them and cook them .

For organic chickpeas, you have to soak overnight, discard water, add fresh cold water, salt, and pressure cook - after pressure builds, turn down and cook on low/medium low for approximately one hour. Discarding the soak water helps eliminate phytates rendering any bean more digestible and preventing gas. Adding ginger also helps prevent gas. Hope this helps! Please keep the great recipes coming!💐

What can you use in place of kale? I'm afraid I don't like the taste of it or the chipotle either, I'm a wimp when it comes to hot / nippy food 🥘 otherwise the soup sounds great, regards Carol

In place of the Kale you can use Cabbage or any dark leafy green like Bok Choy. Also when you try the Kale do you remove the center rib? It is bitter and gives the taste that people associate when they do not like it. If you take that out the leaves are rather mild. In place of the Chipotle seasoning you can use smoked paprika and it will be deliciously smoky.

Xicos I got you now, and I just took a 2 pound bag of dry white beans and poured them into a 4 cup measuring container. So 4 cups is equal to about 2 pounds. This recipe takes about that much and it is usually the amount I cook to have enough for a family of 3 or 4 and left overs.
