My first bike was a baby blade (CBR250RR). I once parked at a cafe very much like this after chasing a 600 up the mountain. I felt a little embarrassed to be parked up among all the big boys, as mine was by far the smallest bike there. An old fella with tats all over and leathers well worn, turns to me and asks what I was riding. I sheepishly point to my little bike, and he pauses for a second while thinking, then says, "Man, I reckon that'd be fun!" And with that, I was inducted into the rider's club. Been riding for 42 years, and I'd probably look like the old fella at the top of the mountain now.

1000rr is the bike we want but vfr400 is the bike we all need. I would take that one in a heartbeat. 155kg 60hp is rapid no matter what some liter bike fanatics would say :) Ive ridden an R1, ZX10-R, Hayabusa, BT1100 Bulldog, SV1000s, and my 1991 DT125R and the busa also gets a strong recommendation. It was the first bike I've tested in 2005 (2003 model with powercommander and yoshimura pipe) and DAMN, I was a bit scared at first after riding the DT but it was the easiest to ride bike of the big ones. Very easy to handle at taking off speeds and manouvering in a parking lot for a first timer and throttle response is just perfect. Only drawback is that its decievingly quick to accelerate because its so comfortable 😵‍💫

Fantastic episode. Honda Fanboy having had a CBR 600, fireblade 900, and a fireblade 954 (never mind the multiple ninjas). Watching from Vancouver Island BC Canada the TT is a dream holiday.

The best advice my brother gave me "take the test and get your bike licence. Once you've got it they can't take it from you (well, unless you've been very naughty...) and it will only become more expensive to obtain as time goes on." There's so much fun and freedom to be had on a bike. A car moves the body, a bike moves the soul.

Alex I’m not a biker, know nothing about them, and have no interest in, but that was brilliant, really enjoyed that, kudos to you all. I live on the NC500, you should give that a go with Gareth you’d love it if you’ve not already been. Top man.

100% right about doing the bike test if you're on the fence. A year ago, I got a bit bored of cars and decided to do my DAS and see if I liked bikes. Wish I'd done it sooner. I don't ride particularly fast, but bikes are just a whole new level of fun.

NC30 was my first time pillion on a bike when I was circa 1999. That noise will never leave me

Great video and great memories from this year's TT overtaking on the 'wrong' side of the round on the mountain was really strange but awesome!

Great video again, nice to see Gareth back. Good choice on bikes, got excited seeing the little vfr, had an rvf 400 as 1st bike then weirdly as you have one too I moved onto a Ducati 748…then kids came along 😂 Like Alex I’m not tall and being flat footed at standstill on the RVF was so comfortable, hope you keep the bike was a great handling rev machine

Firstly apologies Alex, I haven’t really been following you much lately but this episode was a blast. Totally absorbed from the 1st scene to the last. Just you and Gareth, having a laugh on great looking bikes, takes me back to when you both were engine swapping on your front driveway. Great video. Thanks Alex and Gareth.

This gave me the most mighty car mods feels i have had from another channel in many many years. you could tell me moog did the music and i woulnt even think about it before saying yes. This video could also easily have been an hour long and i wouldnt have noticed the difference. Top job lads thats all i have

Holy moly had no idea how much the content has gotten better from the CT times. I'm more of a bike nut, so when I saw the Fireblade and 'Isle of Man' my curiosity got the best of me, and I'm glad it did. Well done 👏
