people think SM just found yeri and decided to add her, but thats not the case. the original line up for RV was the 5 members. but when it was time to debut, yeri was still too young so they waited and debuted just the other 4. i think adding yeri was the best decision SM has made and red velvet wouldnt be the same without her.

Red Velvet transcended into the perfect girl group when Yeri was added. When she debuted, it felt like a lost puzzle piece was found and added again. I can't imagine RV without her, lol. She's so cute, pretty and talented! I don't like all the hate she gets.

@@m1naria I don't think it's really the stage lights but moreso the fact that these big networks like KBS/SBS/MBC intentionally, despite being "1080p," will post LOW bitrate video on their YT channels as opposed to their BROADCAST video streams.

idk but the choreo looks complete when they performed this with 5 members.. Yeri's addition to the group is one of the Best decision SM had done for the group ig .

Call me delusional but I'm pretty sure the original line up for Red Velvet was all five of them. But somehow SM decided to debut OT4 first. I mean, all of the OT4 debut and comeback was a digital single and not an album/mini album. SM barely put in effort with the debut teasers and comeback & was forced to go with OT4. And when Yeri came, that's all the real deal came. They had their very first physical mini album and a long ass promotions & first win. & also there was a video of sm rookies watching Red Velvet's happiness mv and yeri was the only female trainee in it plus you can hear her talking to someone who sounds like irene and joy. Idk man I really think OT5 was the original.

I'm pretty sure that the real purpose of Red Velvet's debut was covering up the SM scandals. Sulli leaving f(x), Jessica leaving Girls' Generation... A lot of scandals happened and they needed to be covered up. So SM used the most common tactic - give media and people something new to talk about. This tactic is well known to be used when any scandal happens - Sewol Ferry tragedy is a good example (even tho covering up this scandal wasn't that succesful ). I think that the original lineup was OT4 AND Yeri. The problem was that RV debuted earlier than expected and Yeri probably wasn't prepared to debut in that time (maybe she had scheduled training?), so SM debuted OT4 first and added Yeri in ICC era. As you said, ICC was a really big era for Red Velvet and that's the reason I think the group was originally planned to debut in 2015. I'm sad SM didn't stick to their original plan, because to be honest, their debut would have been much bigger boom in 2015. So many people entered the k-pop world that year... Whatever. I just wanted to share my opinion with you :D

actually yeri once had a tumblr account back in 2013 or early 2014 I don't quite remember, and she was talking to someone (who posted this story in tumblr after icc happened) this someone said that yeri talked to them about how she was a trainee at SM and she was going to debut. she also said the first letter of her name started with Y. but 2 weeks later she deleted her account and soon rv debuted but yeri wasn't in the group so this person thought yeri was lying but then ice cream cake era happened and yeri was added + yeri once said Irene has been taking care of her since 6th grade and is like a mother to her so if that isn't enough prove to antis idk what is

yeri's red hair Only 4 debuted because Yeri was too young to debut. You have to be a certain age to debut and she wasn't old enough yet. That is why she debuted in the Ice Cream Cake era. In fact, if you watch the Happiness MV, you can see Yeri at the start of the video when the giant lips are speaking.

she is not tall. the members are very short so she looks tall around them. Joy is average height (163cm) but this could be a bit exaggerated so I am guessing she is around 160cm and that is not tall tbh.

During the video my eyes is focusing on yeri. I don't know why people hates her so much. She's a good singer and dancer too. Maybe the hater jealous of her because she got to make a debut with RV even tho a bit late and she's very pretty actually. They had been train for years. Even the renowned singer of Korea said that not all in the group should sing. If everybody sing who is gonna do the dance who is gonna be the visual. Everybody is good at singing but they had been chosen who do this and that and they have their own roles that is why they debut as a group and that is what group is.So stop hating them or yeri. Y'all know, it's pretty cool when someone shows you that you were wrong. I, well, I didn't hate on Yeri but there's was never a full acceptance from me to her, because I liked more the group as OT4, it was kinda uncomfortable to me and, at the end, I stopped following the group. And that was like a year ago, kinda. When they released Russian Roulette I felt the nostalgic need to listen all their stuff again. And as I said, it's pretty cool when they show you that you were wrong. Yeri is a cute baby, and a beautiful person. She literally completes the group in a perfect OT5. And yeah, this dance is more complete with Yeri in it. Thi is irrelevant but I really want to apologize Yeri for my immature attitude in the past. She's wonderful, and deserves all the love from everyone. From now I'll send Happiness to the FIVE members of Red Velvet♥

I didn't like Yeri in the beginning, but I feel like she really does complete the group tbh. I feel like she was part of the original lineup but SM wasn't sure if she was ready so they made her wait and I ACTUALLY THINK THAT other than a few moves in this dance, it actually looks much better with 5. She's starting to grow on me~ I hope she blossoms into a beautiful talented young woman

I've liked Yeri since she joined but I agree on maybe she was part of the original line up but SM wasn't sure about her being ready yet. I really don't think that SM would just randomly throw a new member in without a good idea of the dynamic that would effect the group.

+Mary Knowles she was part really. But i think she was too young back then to debut and sm had to make up for jessica issue. Thats what i read somewhere. Haha.

I read somewhere that SM already knew that Sulli won't be coming back to f(x) so they added Yeri so that they would not have two girl groups with 4 members in it.

I'm sure it wasn't easy to incorperate Yeri into this song, hence her part being a little less than the others but I'm happy that they put her in the middle to make up for her lack of singing parts. Can I petition for Happiness OT5 to be released....? :D

The choreo just looks so right with 5 people. It flows so nice. Yeri was a perfect add in to Red Velvet. She truly completes it.

그땐 몰랐는데.. 이제 와보니 해피니스가 진짜 띵곡이었어.. 어찌 보면 초창기 레드벨벳의 정체성을 가장 잘 품고 있는 곡. 기존 K팝씬에서 듣도 보도 못한 새로운 시도였다. 레게라기엔 BPM이 넘 빠르고 아프리카 토속 리듬이라 얼버무리기엔 멜로디가 너무 화려하고. 댄스는 또 얼마나 귀엽고 신나게; 돈과 권력이 행복의 모든게 아니라는 가사도, 모녀지간에 다정하게 아침인사 나누는 가사도 당시로선 그리고 아이돌 음악치곤 신선하고 파격적이기 까지 하지. 대학 신입생 과티 재질에 앙증맞은 주름치마, 지금이야 더이상 저런 후즐근한 의상으로 무대에 오를 레벨의 레벨이 아니지만, 해피니스 무대 중 저 의상이 젤 예쁘네. 아주 잘 어울려. 딱이야. 근데 진짜 저땐 어렸구나. 다들 애기네 애기👶ㅋㅋ

I LOVE yeri. I think she is a very natural addition to the group!!! She fits in with the other members (which makes sense since they've known each other for a long time) and idk, overall I like their vibe as 5. Take this song! Playing with the lines a little, she becomes a puzzle piece that completes the set. I'm so glad that she joined, for real, and I will always support her and all of rv.

There’s one moment I realized how much I love Yeri and it was when she was so overwhelmed by a cute guy that she introduced herself as Katy and not Yeri. 🤣

ᄒ ᄒ 예리가 아이스크림 케이크 때 새로 들어왔는데 5명이 아니라 4명을 더 좋아했던 몇몇 레드벨벳 팬들이 트위터에도 예리 욕 하고 뷔앱에서도 예리 욕 하고 예리가 중간에 꼈다는 이유로 여러모로 욕을 엄청 먹어서 이번 활동 때 웃음이 너무 많이 사라졌더라고요
